About Chevrolet Traverse
The 2023 Chevy Traverse arrived largely unchanged from the refreshed 2022 Chevy Traverse.
In January 2023, Consumer Reports gave the 2023 Chevy Traverse a “recommended” rating.
GM is offering a carryover 2024 Chevy Traverse Limited model due to the result of the UAW labor strike, which delayed the launch of the all-new third-generation 2024 Chevrolet Traverse. The 2024 Traverse Limited remained unchanged from the 2023 model year.
The online configurator tool is live for the 2023 Traverse and now live for the next-gen 2024 Traverse.
This past summer, GM revealed the next-gen 2024 Chevy Traverse, introducing a design that evokes “a rugged, ready-for-anything presence” along with a fully overhauled cabin with a “best-in-class” 17.7-inch diagonal color infotainment touchscreen. Furthermore, the vaunted GM Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assistance feature will be available for the first time ever on the Traverse, thanks to the adoption of GM’s new Global B electronic architecture, plus heated windshield wipers.
Four trim levels are currently available for the all-new 2024 Chevy Traverse, including LS, LT, and RS, plus a new off-road-focused Z71 trim for the first time ever on the three-row large crossover, marking the first unibody vehicle to wear the Z71 badge.
The High Country trim has been dropped, though a range-topping High Country trim may arrive soon. The forthcoming high-end Premier has been spotted in the wild. That was expected and is not surprising since the new 2024 Traverse RS is based on the forthcoming Premier trim.
The next-gen 2024 Traverse offers a single powertrain choice: an all-new turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine that develops 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque, representing an additional 18 horsepower and 60 pound-feet compared to the outgoing 3.6L V6 LFY engine – an impressive 22.5-percent increase in peak torque. The maximum trailering rating for the all-new, third-generation Traverse stays the same at 5,000 pounds.
An eight-speed automatic transmission drives the front wheels as standard on the 2024 Traverse, with all-wheel drive available on all trim levels as a “regular” system while the Z71 trim level exclusively sports an “off-road-capable” twin-clutch system.
Pricing uncovered for the next-gen 2024 Chevy Traverse shows price increases ranging from $3,080 to $9,155. Check out all 2024 Traverse pricing with options and packages.
Production of the third-generation 2024 Traverse is now underway at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan. Here’s what we know about 2024 Traverse deliveries so far.

OMG, that Traverse RS purple color is HIDEOUS. Who approved that?
I’m sorry. But the 24 Traverse is just ugly. The color and the vehicle both.
I don’t know what is worse. That purple color, or how it highlights the poorly designed side rear window profile
While the purple is not a color I’d choose, I’m good with others wanting it. There are colors besides black, white and grey. The thing that stands out to me is you can still get a full size suv for less than 40K. Granted a base, but still somewhat surprised.
The Tahoe is a full-Size SUV. The Traverse is a Mid-Size SUV.
And there’s a reason the price is under 40K for the base model. It’s not worth more than that.
It is a full size CUV and up until this generation Tahoe had more interior room than them. A midsize is the Blazer.
I agree with mk, it is nice seeing color choices out there to break up the same black, which and grey everyone else has. While not my favorite purple (a deep darker purple would have been my choice) we should applaud the choices, no one is forcing you to buy the color, plenty of black, white and grey to choose from…
Also for 40k it is well equipped. My brother is looking at one to replace their 2012 Yukon, this has almost more features than it standard (3 zone climate control, tons of safety features including adaptive cruise, 360 camera, big screens, heated steering wheel and seats, etc). for $1,000 you can add the fake leather which we are a big fan of. Wife had that in her Rav4 (they call it softex while GM calls it evotex) which was soft, very durable and no maintenance needed, just wipe them off if dirty. Could even stand up to a mr clean magic eraser when things were stuck on.
Either way, while I am not a fan of all the black accents and wheels, it isn’t bad looking. Then again, I don’t buy a vehicle based on looks, too many complainers seem to do that, it should be way down on the list of shopping decisions.
Where are you getting this information from? I am in the Miami market and no dealership have these cars yet, I have called all 3 major dealerships, including Bomin, the largest volume Chevy dealer in the US. to get put on their waiting list. They are clueless about allocations and all told me they have no idea when they are getting them and should have more info by the end of may. Again… Where are you getting this information from?
Same here in NJ. No where to be found. They have to be 2025 by the time they hit dealers. THis might be the worst launch of a vehicle ever!!!! cant even sit in them at the auto shows. Have to start looking at other brands now
Same, I traded in my VW atlas in Jan hoping to get the Traverse. I’ve been given the run around for 4 months by every dealership. If I do not hear back from anyone by May 1st, I am jumping on the Palisade. For Chevy to continue to call this the 2024 Traverse while other companies already have the 2025’s for sale is ridiculous. This car is technically already depreciating before it even hits dealer lots. ZONK!
LT 3000 jump in price for a 4 banger cheap engine drop in a 5.3 forget about junk turbo 4 should be 3000 or less off cheap build GM more garbage from Barra
I have my Traverse ordered with a confirmed production date and delivery in mid-May.
How did you get a mid-May delivery date? I’ve had mine on order since the end of January. All I can find out is that they are not being delivered yet because the EPA regulations haven’t been approved in the USA. They have been approved in Canada
My salesman called me and said he had allocation to order the model I want. After placing his order he was given a production date for end of April with delivery mid-May.
I’ll stick with finding a leftover 2024 Limited with the tried and true, super reliable, very good gas mileage 3.6L. I love my 2021 Redline, but my wife also loves it very much, racking up the miles quickly! So it’s about time to trade it in for “new”/”fresh” miles.
My local dealer in Florida sez that the EPA has released and certified the 2024 Traverse models and they will start shipping Friday April 19. Anyone else heard this?
I regularly am checking to see what the fuel economy from the .gov website says and I believe they have so far only released the 2024 limited not the next gen. I know my local dealer here in MA has the 2024 limited on the lots and has for a bit but still has no idea when they will get their dealer stock of next gen. I haven’t asked in about 2 weeks what the status of my order is though so this could have changed but again- per the .gov website there is no fuel econ for the next gen yet though also not sure how often they might update the site.
How did your dealer get this info? This is the first I’ve heard someone make the claim the EPA has passed and a ship date.
