Out of the 11 manufacturers represented in this space of 23 entries, eight offer multiple models. However, some automakers with just one model in this segment sometimes outsell them. Here is the overall rank of automakers, in order:

  • Hyundai Motor Group – 20 percent segment share, four models
  • Ford – 19 percent share, two models
  • Stellantis – 14 percent share, three models
  • Toyota – 14 percent share, three models
  • GM – 9 percent share, three models
  • Honda – 8 percent share, two models
  • VW – 5 percent share, one model
  • Nissan – 5 percent share, two models
  • Mitsubishi – 3 percent share, one model
  • Subaru – 3 percent share, one model
  • Mazda – 2 percent share, two models

The midsize and full-size mainstream crossover segment, comprised of models with a starting price in the vicinity of $30K, were flat for 492,637 units during Q1 2024. That means Chevy Blazer sales outperformed the segment average.

The GM Authority Take

While Chevy Blazer sales outperformed the segment average to start the year, they actually slipped a spot from the previous quarter. And while GM has three entries among 23 for a combined nine percent segment share, none of its models broke into the top ten, though admittedly, it is a very crowded marketplace.

We still expect the next-generation 2024 Chevy Traverse and all-new 2024 GMC Acadia to improve The General’s ranking here once their respective launches are fully underway.

About Chevrolet Blazer

The refreshed 2023 Chevy Blazer features revised front and rear fascias, different LED headlights and taillights, and a new infotainment display.

The 2024 Chevy Blazer arrives with a few changes and updates, including standard heated front seats across the lineup and a new paint color complimented by five interior colorways. Furthermore, 2024 Blazer Arctic Packages get expanded availability. Originally offered on the 3LT trim level for 2023, the Arctic Package 1 and 2 are now both available on the 2LT trim for 2024.

There will be a 2025 Chevy Blazer in North America, after all, with production scheduled to start on July 8th.

2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV

About Chevrolet Blazer EV

In July 2022, the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV made its official debut, ushering in the Bow Tie brand’s mass-market electric crossover. Headlined by a maximum GM-estimated range of 320 miles from a full charge, the Chevy Blazer EV will be available in front-, rear- and all-wheel drive configurations, while the trim level lineup will include 1LT, 2LT, RS, and Blazer EV SS, along with a Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV) model for law enforcement, making it the quickest police package ever offered by Chevy.

Chevrolet is even bringing back a Super Sport model with the first-ever 2024 Chevy Blazer EV SS. A standard dual-motor powertrain delivers up to 557 horsepower and 648 pound-feet of torque in the crossover, enabling a zero to 60 mph time of under four seconds in the Wide Open Watts (WOW) acceleration setting. Additional performance-focused features include a specific sport-tuned chassis and Brembo front brakes.

With the Blazer EV now on sale (see running Chevy Blazer EV sales), we look forward to seeing how the Blazer EV performs in the marketplace – especially compared to ICE-powered Chevy Blazer sales – and the impact of the coveted high-performance Blazer SS model when it arrives later this year.
