The GM Authority Take
Cadillac CT4 sales moved up a spot from the previous quarter, but still only accounted for little more than a tenth of all deliveries in this space. The small luxury sedan continues to be outperformed by updated models from key rivals, with the all-new Acura Integra being the chief one. It claimed two-fifths of all deliveries and includes the 2024 Acura Integra Type S high-performance variant, which goes head-to-head with the Cadillac CT4-V. Even the Audi A3 and BMW 2 Series outsold the CT4 lineup by more than two-to-one.
While GM recently confirmed it will offer a 2025 Cadillac XT5, XT6, and CT4 In North America, it is still unclear if and when the CT4 will receive a much-needed refresh, especially since production of the 2025 CT4 begins on June 3rd. Regardless, the Cadillac CT4 almost didn’t exist, and though it plays an important role in the Cadillac portfolio, we wonder for how much longer that remains true.

Here is everything that’s new and different on the 2024 Cadillac CT4-V and the CT4-V Blackwing.
The Cadillac CT4 rides on the GM Alpha 2 platform, with the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport trims powered by the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine. These models, which carry the 350T designation on the decklid and GM’s eight-speed automatic transmission, are rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B and GM 10-speed automatic transmission are optional on the Premium Luxury trim; this model wears the 500T badge and makes 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the L3B engine and ten-speed automatic transmission are standard on the CT4-V, where they’re rated at 325 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. All of these variants are available in both rear-wheel-drive and optional all-wheel-drive.
The Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing runs the twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 LF4 gasoline engine, rated at 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. The GM six-speed manual transmission is standard, while the 10-speed auto is optional – both exclusively powering the rear wheels.
The Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing won the Car and Driver 2024 10Best award, marking the high-performance luxury sedan’s third appearance on the annual list, and recently, Consumer Reports gave the 2024 Cadillac CT4 a Recommended rating.

Considering how well it’s marketed, it’s surprising that they sell any at all….
From the fly on the wall at GM headquarters late Friday afternoon:
Exec #1: Can someone tell me how this is happening?
Exec #2: What boss?
#1: How are any of these things still selling?
#2: Well, there are still people out there who want cars.
#1: But that’s not what we want to sell. I told you to do more to snuff out those stupid sedans.
#2: But boss, why?
#1: I don’t want those things taking up any space or my production lines when we can pump out more SUV’s. Now do more to kill these pesky cars off, now!
#2: Yes boss.
The problem is just like the Camaro!!! When is the Cadillac on TV!!! They push the crap out of the Electric junk. But not the CT5 or CT4. Most people don’t know the GM makes anything but SUV’s. 🤷♂️
Rich Farm Boy: I do see some ads for the Cadillac Lyriq, but not nearly as many as for the fancy Tahoe Escalade.
I See them pushing SUV’s like all the other GM vehicles.
Wow, 4th of 6 in the segment with sales down 36.06% from Q1 2023. BTW, my sister bought a new 2023 (Her BMW sedan had over 200k miles & she didn’t want a SUV), and after 4 trips to 2 different dealers finally has the bugs out of it. Says she loves it now. Was about to unload at a big loss and go Lexus (her ride previous to BMW).
I wonder what percentage of sales are blackwings
Cadillac’s sedans have about 2 years left, tops.
They want only EV sedans, if any.
