The Dallas Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice following a multi-vehicle crash in Dallas late last month. Rashee Rice now faces eight felony charges related to the incident, including six counts of collision involving bodily injury, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury, and one count of aggravated assault. The charges have the potential to lead to significant prison time and fines.
According to a report from ABC news affiliate WFAA, State Sen. Royce West, who will represent Rashee Rice as his attorney, confirmed that his client was behind the wheel the Lamborghini SUV involved in the crash in March. The incident also involved a Chevy Corvette leased in Rice’s name, driven by another party at the time. Both vehicles were reportedly speeding on U.S. 75 in Dallas when they lost control, leading to a crash involving a total of six vehicles.
Theodore Knox, the driver of the Corvette and a cornerback for the SMU football team, faces identical charges to Rashee Rice. The crash left multiple victims in its wake, with two requiring hospitalization.
Dash cam footage of the incident was posted to social media, showing the Chevy Corvette and Lamborghini Urus speeding down the lefthand side of the road. In the video, the Lamborghini appears to strike a vehicle, pushing it in front of the Corvette. The Corvette driver reacts by swerving across multiple lanes before striking another vehicle. The Corvette ends up against the retaining wall on the righthand side of the highway, while the Lamborghini SUV is stopped in the middle of a lane. Passengers in the Lamborghini are seen exiting the vehicle.
All of the occupants in the Lamborghini and Corvette reportedly fled the scene. The passengers are not expected to face any charges.

Well, he’s got a connected lawyer. At least he got a Superbowl ring before things took a turn. That area of Central Expressway is typically packed during daylight hours. Bad idea, followed by more bad ideas. This will be an interesting watch.
Don’t confuse athletic skill with intelligence. Fleeing the scene when both cars are registered in your name only makes things worse
Left scene of accident with injured people is criminal should have arrested immediately kicked out of NFL and lost contact FAFO.
Driving that fast in heavy traffic was a bad move. Leaving the scene was a really bad move. Fortunately, none of the injuries appear to be life threatening. There are plenty of criminal charges against him. He has been arrested. I suspect that he will pay a steep price for his actions, both criminally and financially. Justice will probably be served.
I would be surprised if the victims aren’t already lining up lawyers to sue Rice and that’s fine. The problem for them is after the insurance pays off, he has his signing bonus, rookie season contract money and a Superbowl bonus. A chunk of that money is going to go to his lawyers, what’s left over will go to the victims’ lawyers and finally to the victims themselves. At the end of the day, probably not much to the victims. One wonders if they would be better off looking for minimal jail time with a long probation period that might leave him with some earning potential in the NFL to pay off any judgements against him. I don’t have a dog in this hunt, but since there were no deaths, and as I understand it, relatively minor injuries, if I was one of the victims I’d rather have him making money for my family than rotting in jail. He may not get that opportunity and I’m okay with that, too.
I hope he payes through the nose!
