2025 Chevy Equinox Plus PHEV Interior Design Unveiled

Three months after the official debut of the all-new 2025 Chevy Equinox Plus PHEV in China, General Motors has just revealed the interior design of the plug-in hybrid crossover for the Asian country.

SAIC-GM revealed the first official images corresponding to the interior design of the all-new 2025 Chevy Equinox Plus PHEV, the electrified variant of the fourth generation of Chevrolet’s best-selling crossover worldwide, presented for the first time in China. The joint venture is pursuing its gradual reveal of the 2025 Equinox Plus’ main features ahead of its imminent arrival in the Chinese market.

The all-new 2025 Chevy Equinox Plus PHEV’s cabin maintains the exact same design and configuration introduced by the standard version of the next-generation Equinox that debuted globally earlier this year in the United States. However, the 2025 Equinox Plus PHEV adopts a unique two-tone colorway with blue accents and specific trim that distinguish it from the North American version.

Among the most notable features of the all-new 2025 Chevy Equinox Plus PHEV’s interior design is the dual-screen panel combining an 11.3-inch infotainment system touchscreen and an 11-inch digital instrument cluster, identical to that of the American model. The company highlights that the set’s hardware incorporates the Snapdragon 8155 chip that guarantees a fast and highly optimized user experience.

Meanwhile, the 2025 Chevy Equinox Plus PHEV’s differentiating interior details include a 121-color surround ambient lighting system and unique jewel-like trim. For its part, SAIC-GM claims that the 2025 Equinox Plus’ cabin has high space efficiency, including 25 storage points and a cargo volume of up to 1,619 liters or 57.2 cubic feet with the second row of seats folded down.

The all-new 2025 Chevy Equinox Plus PHEV will be officially presented and launched in China on April 25th during the 2024 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China), which will be open to the public throughout May 4th. In addition to the two-tone Black/Blue interior, the 2025 Equinox Plus PHEV will offer a greater variety of colorway options for the RS and Activ trim levels when it launches.

  1. It’s obvious the US need this in the market to compete with the RAV4 and CRV hybrids.

    1. US needs a hybrid, not a pricey PHEV.

      1. Sorta the same thing, both have an electric motor and a battery, one just uses the battery more. Both are gonna cost the same. Not sure why everyone is against PHEV’s, other than not understanding how they work and the benefits. The Volt was a great car undone by GM not explaining the benefits correctly and/or marketing it…at all.

      2. YES! Full hybrids, not PHEV’s.

        1. A PHEV is a hybrid that allows a fully electric drive mode….it’s still a hybrid.

      3. That’s a fact! Hybrid is needed.

  2. So it talks about the screens, the storage and colors/lighting. But what about the range on the PHEV side? Kind of a huge part of the equation isn’t it?

What engine with the battery? Details please. I’d love to see Chevy unseat that stupid Rav4 as the top seller in this segment. I think the Equinox has a good shot with the new one and adding the BEV and hopefully a PHEV (in the US).

    1. Per the headline, this is an article about the unveiling of the interior design. It is not an article about performance.

      1. Tiger: Understood. But why not give one line of mention to it? Kind of important IMO. Way more important that who’s screen is bigger.

    2. Check the links in the article, all previously reported. Range is 620 miles (E-only 100m) engine is 1.5L, 0-60mph is 6.8sec. Interior info was not reported before.

    3. If the Volt is the design inspiration, the propulsion is by a single electric motor. The E-platform powered the original Fisker. As the Fisker used dual Volt motors to move the vehicle forward. So, the next PHEV would be moved forward by a single electric motor. The vehicle with a, maybe, 20-30 kilowatt battery. The small 4 cylinder 1.2 or 1.3 turbo to turn the 55-65 kilowatt generator that supplies the electricity to the drive motor while excess power is sent to the battery when it is low. Guessing with Volt PHEV inspired design.

    4. Range is when you run out of gas. It’s a hybrid. A PHEV allows the batteries to be charged at home, a public charger and the engine.

      1. Its a PHEV, and as I quoted from a previous article here, spec is 100mi of battery only range on a full charge.

      2. I’m pretty sure gas engines have a range too … usually as far as you can get on a tank of fuel and estimated by expected mpg.

  3. Yeah, we’re not going to get that here in the USA. We will get our usual all black, black and tan and black and grey.

    1. The Equinox EV has blue interior trim….I’m sure we’ll get this too.

  4. As a 2nd Gen Volt owner. I want this PHEV in America a hybrid is not as good as an electric forward PHEV. Most days we are pure electric. Charge at home overnight and drive the next day with quiet, instant torque. And still have the range for long Interstate trips. Not sure what the Chinese test cycle will translate to in EPA range testing for the Equinox Plus, but if it’s comparable to our Volt? Winner. As for reliability? Our Volt is over 100k problem-free miles. Our favorite car ever. But we would like AWD and more ground clearance for winter driving. I think I see the answer.

  5. Funny … I could have sworn that queen mary said GM was not going to build hybrid vehicles anymore. It would either be ICE or pure EVs. Guess she was only referring to what would be sold in North America
