Rolling out the fifth model year of Cadillac’s compact luxury sports sedan, the 2025 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing will introduce only a handful of changes and updates. Now, GM Authority has learned that four colors will be dropped from the exterior palette as part of those changes.
Specifically, the 2025 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing is set to lose Black Diamond Tricoat (paint code GLK), Mercury Silver Metallic (GKA), Midnight Steel Metallic (GXU) and Velocity Red (G7C) from its color lineup. In fact, Black Diamond Tricoat and Velocity Red are already built out for the 2024 model year. Three new colors will indirectly replace the retired paints.
Two of the colors were available on special editions of the 2024 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing only, and for a single model year. Black Diamond Tricoat was offered as a limited-edition V-Series 20th Anniversary color. Meanwhile, Mercury Silver Metallic was only available on the CT4-V Blackwing Arrival Edition, one of the three Mondrian Editions that are discontinued for 2025.
Midnight Steel Metallic was introduced for the 2023 model year, and so was available for two years only. Velocity Red was added to the palette for 2024, giving it a lifespan of a single model year.
Black Diamond and Midnight Steel could be ordered in conjunction with all Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing interior colorways except Mondrian special-edition colors, including the following:
- Jet Black with Jet Black Accents
- Sangria with Jet Black Accents
- Natural Tan with Jet Black Accents
- Sky Cool Gray with Jet Black Accents
Mercury Silver could only be combined with the three Mondrian Edition interior colorways, consisting of the following:
- Jet Black with Sky Cool Gray Accents
- Jet Black with Signet Accents
- Jet Black with Adrenaline Red Accents
Velocity Red could be ordered in conjunction with all seven 2024 colorways.
It’s worth noting that these four colors will be replaced on the 2025 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing palette with three new exterior paints, including Deep Space Metallic (paint code GAI), Drift Metallic (paint code GAE) and Typhoon Metallic (paint code GBW).
As a reminder, motivation is supplied by the twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 LF4 gasoline engine developing 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. The GM six-speed manual transmission is standard, while the GM 10-speed automatic transmission is optional, while RWD is the only drivetrain configuration.
The 2025 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing will continue to be underpinned by the Alpha 2 platform, while production will take place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.
