Introduced for the 2024 model year, the all-new Buick Envista intends to attract younger and value-conscious buyers to the Tri-Shield brand. For the following 2025 model year, the entry-level crossover received a few updates and changes, and now, the 2025 Buick Envista has lost a wheel option.
GM Authority has learned that the Experience Buick Package (RPO code PCJ) won’t be available to order on the base Premium trim level of the 2025 Buick Envista. Typically, this package included (relevant RPO code in parenthesis):
- Power, tilt-sliding sunroof with manual sunshade (CAC)
- 18-inch two-toned machined aluminum wheels (PXJ)
Now, the PXJ wheels have disappeared altogether from the Envista’s options list.
For folks who want a power sunroof, never fear; this feature is still offered on the Preferred trim as a standalone option. In addition, the Experience Buick Package remains available on the Sport Touring (ST) model and includes (relevant RPO code in parenthesis):
- Power, tilt-sliding sunroof with manual sunshade (CAC)
- 19-inch Black painted aluminum wheels (RVB)
- Watts Link System rear suspension
Interestingly, it appears the Experience Buick Package had been unavailable to order throughout the entire 2024 model year for the Envista. In fact, there are currently no 2024 Envista Preferred units in dealer inventory equipped with the PCJ package. This likely means that the PXJ wheels have been under constraint since the 2024 Envista’s production start, and General Motors just elected to drop the wheel option altogether.
As a reminder, every Envista model is equipped as standard fare with the same powertrain combination, which includes the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LBP E85-capable gasoline engine, rated at 136 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, and the GM six-speed automatic transmission.
Regarding structure, the Envista rides on the GM VSS-F vehicle set, while production occurs at the GM Bupyeong plant in South Korea.

First of all, being a GM site, you need to post a pic of the Preferred trim and not the ST and Avenir that you have done. The Preferred has the best-looking grille of them all, IMO. And those stupid black wheels ruin it completely, so good riddance. Enough black wheels! The majority is on board and agree 100%.
They were not black wheels though. They were machined with black pockets. A very good looking wheel that really spruced up the base model Envista… at least in CGI on Buick’s site. It appears to be the same wheel that has been readily available on the Encore GX.
Never fear the all black life sucking wheels are still somehow available. Funny how that seems to work!
Why does gm constantly offer so many options that their suppliers cannot fill the demand? Someone doing a very poor job on both sides of the supply chain.
Just my opinion: Black painted wheels look cheap and look like they belong on an old taxicab, a fleet model, or a base no frills model. They do not look sporty or luxurious in no way, shape, or form to me. Chrome wheels, on the other hand, look elegant, sporty, and luxurious all at the same time.
I do not get the hysteria concerning the black wheels. They are not standard. They are included as an option or in a trim package. It’s all about choices.
Just find another wheel supplier for heavens sake! There are literally 1000’s of wheel suppliers worldwide.
Nice looking car but no AWD option
