While The General originally planned to make both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations of the BrightDrop Zevo 400 and BrightDrop Zevo 600 vans for the 2024 model year, all currently available information points to only AWD variants making it into actual production.
As GM Authority reported, a 14-module battery pack (RPO code EW2) was also supposed to be released, but never reached production for the 2024 BrightDrop Zevo models either.
Now, it appears both FWD and AWD units of the BrightDrop Zevo will be built for the 2025 model year, GM Authority has learned. Furthermore, it has now been revealed that two battery pack sizes will be available for the 2025 Zevo 400 and 600, including the 12-module unit (RPO code ETC) and the 20-module unit (RPO code ETJ).
Revised range figures and other information about the 2025 BrightDrop Zevo in both configurations can be found on the following table:

After numerous production halts, production of the BrightDrop Zevo resumed during the early days of April 2024 at the GM CAMI Assembly plant in Ontario, Canada. Assembly of the vehicles was halted for six months most recently, and for different, shorter periods before that, on account of a lack of battery modules to install in the commercial EVs.
The Zevo vans, whose all-electric powertrain utilizes GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium Drive motors, are currently in service with Walmart, Hertz, FedEx, Verizon, and additional companies.
However, with the absorption of the BrightDrop subsidiary into GM Envolve, other products in the lineup, specifically the Trace and Trace Grocery e-carts, have been put on hold. A GM representative said that development of the carts is paused rather than canceled, raising the possibility they will be offered again, and further developed, in the future. Meanwhile, the company is focusing exclusively on the Zevo vans.
GM plans to boost production of the BrightDrop Zevo to 50,000 vehicles annually by 2025 and expects revenues to reach or surpass $10 billion on Zevo sales by 2030.

An ICE V8 would have been a better option!
Oh yeah, because all the start/stop city driving & higher miles exactly calls for a ICE V8, come on man. Electric is about perfect for this type of things, city delivery driving. Charge over night, pretty much zero maintenance and much easier on the driver and company with an EV.
An I-6 diesel would have been perfect.
Would love like a 300-400 mile range version that could be outfitted as a camper van.
If they can put the 24 module battery pack in this then it might be possible.
