The 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 is the sixth model year for the fourth-generation pickup truck, debuting a few important updates over the preceding 2023 model year, including a new diesel engine for the ZR2 trim level. However, GM Authority has learned that the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 is currently unavailable to order with two off-road-oriented upgrades.
The two upgrades in question include the Rocker Protection upgrade (RPO code NAA) and the Off-Road Assist Steps (RPO code RVP). Both options are currently unavailable to order for the 2024 Silverado 1500 as of April 1st, 2024.
Both options were previously offered as LPO-level options, which means they were installed by the dealer and not at the factory. The Rocker Protection upgrade and the Off-Road Assist Steps were previously available for the Silverado Custom Trail Boss, LT Trail Boss, and ZR2 trim levels. Pricing was set at $1,195 for the Rocker Protection and $1,295 for the Off-Road Assist Steps.
It is currently unclear when either of these options will be available to order again.
Additionally, the Rocker Protection upgrade was previously included with the Silverado’s ZR2 Bison Edition Package (RPO code ULV). As such, units built without this feature will be indicated as such by RPO code R9S on the window sticker.
As GM Authority covered previously, the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 now offers the new 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine for the ZR2 trim level. The LZ0 engine was initially introduced to the Chevy Silverado 1500 lineup in conjunction with the 2023 model year, replacing the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine offered previously.
Further engine options include the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, and the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine. The GM T1 platform provides the underpinnings, while production occurs at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana, the GM Oshawa plant in Canada, and the GM Silao plant in Mexico

More promises gm can’t keep. All so common.
will the sticker price go down by 1K, or will it only go down by 50 dollars like everything else these trucks can’t get added on these days. ?
As stated in the article above Galen they are both LPO level options installed by the dealer. They will now not be available and obviously the customer will not be charged hence no $1195 charge.
@gruntster, I understand that. But these were standard on certain trim levels. The price is included in the sticker, you do not pay the dealer separately for LPO options. All the dealer does is install them. Just like the heated seat and locking steering wheel feature that GM did not add around the scamdemic time, GM only gave you 50 bucks off for not having them. What I am referring to is, will GM give a 50 dollar discount off the sticker price of the trucks that were supposed to include these items, when the sticker price should be lowered way more than that.
