The 1WT or Work Truck trim level of the 2024 Chevy Silverado MD has just had a new audio system added to the available lineup of options, specifically the Chevrolet Infotainment System with 7-inch diagonal color touch-screen (RPO code IOR).
The new IOR Chevrolet Infotainment System has a number of significant features, including Bluetooth hands-free calling and streaming audio, wired phone projection via select third-party apps, USB ports and an auxiliary jack.
The optional IOR Infotainment System is bundled with the 6-speaker audio system (RPO code UQ3) on the Regular Cab variant of the 2024 Chevy Silverado MD, and for this configuration also requires choosing the front 40/20/40 split-bench seats (RPO code A52) beforehand. Pricing is not yet available for the system.
Notably, the Chevrolet Infotainment System with 7-inch diagonal color touch-screen can’t be ordered in conjunction with any of the following (RPO codes in parenthesis):
- Single-slot CD/MP3 player (TG5)
- OnStar (UE1)
- SiriusXM Radio (U2K)
It replaces the base audio system, tagged with RPO code IO3, which includes a 4.2-inch color display, USB port and auxiliary jack. The Regular Cab configuration gets the 4-speaker system (UQ5) as standard, while the Crew Cab body style gets the 6-speaker audio system (UQ3).
The top audio system option for the 2024 Chevy Silverado MD 1WT or Work Truck trim level remains the Chevrolet Infotainment System with 8-inch diagonal color touch-screen (RPO code IO5), which also includes Bluetooth hands-free calling and streaming audio, USB ports, and an auxiliary jack. However, in addition, it also includes voice-activated technology for radio and phone as well as a shop with the ability to browse, select and install apps such as Pandora, iHeartRadio, The Weather Channel and more.
The top-end IO5 Infotainment System also includes the 6-speaker audio system (RPO code UQ3), a 4.2-inch diagonal Driver Information Center (UDD), leather-wrapped steering wheel (NP5), and steering wheel audio controls (UK3). As with the IOR system, IO5 requires choosing the front 40/20/40 split-bench seats (A52) as a prerequisite.
As a reminder, buyers must choose OnStar (UE1) in order to get SiriusXM Radio. SiriusXM and OnStar are only available in conjunction with the IO5 system.
Unlike the Work Truck trim, the 1LT trim level gets the IO5 Infotainment System with 8-inch diagonal color touch-screen as standard, along with the single-slot CD/MP3 player, SiriusXM Radio, 4.2-inch diagonal Driver Information Center, OnStar, leather-wrapped steering wheel and steering wheel audio controls.
Last year, the Chevrolet Infotainment System with seven-inch touchscreen (RPO code IOB) for the 2023 Chevy Silverado MD was placed under constraint and unavailable to order starting in August. Only the base infotainment system was available until December, when the constraint was lifted by the current IO5 system replacing the now-retired IOB.
As a reminder, the Chevy Silverado MD lineup was launched with the 2019 model year, replacing the previous GM commercial medium-duty truck model, the Chevy Kodiak.

Nice. These trucks still need a gasoline engine option though. Any updates coming for 2025?
