The Midnight Edition package (RPO code WJP) for the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD in the High Country trim was previously placed under constraint and mostly unavailable to order, with a 3 percent constraint starting in early 2024.
Now, however, GM Authority has learned that the Midnight Edition package for the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD is no longer under constraint and is once again available to order.
Notably, a 3 percent constraint on the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD High Country Midnight Edition meant that only 3 percent of the Midnight Edition trucks GM originally planned to build were actually built.
The package contains the following elements:
- Black grille bar with Chevy Black Bowtie
- Black grille inserts
- Black skid plate
- Black badging
- Black Bowtie on horn pad
- Gloss Black mirror caps (DP6)
- Black beltline moldings
- Black hood vent surround
- Painted front bumper (VB5)
- Painted rear bumper (VT5)
- Painted door handles (D75)
- Animated taillamps
- Chevytec spray-on bedliner (CGN)
- Power retractable assist steps (B3L)
- 20-inch high gloss painted wheels (S90)
- LT275/65R20 blackwall off- road tires (QFG) or standard LT275/65R20 all-terrain, blackwall tires (QF9)
GM Authority has previously published a Live Photo Gallery examining the unique look of the High Country Midnight Edition. The package is available on the High Country trim level for an additional $1,985. In order to be optioned with the package, the pickup must also be equipped with the $325 Z71 Off-Road Package (RPO code Z71), painted in Black (GBA) and dressed up with the Jet Black (HXE) interior colorway.
As a reminder, motivation is supplied to the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD with one of two engine choices. The naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine developing 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque is equipped as standard. Meanwhile, the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine, uprated to 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque as part of the 2024 refresh, is optional. Both engines are paired with the Allison-branded 10-speed automatic transmission.
Production of the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD takes place at two locations, including the GM Flint Assembly plant in Michigan and the GM Oshawa plant in Canada.
