2024 Cadillac Escalade-V Gets New Black Diamond Tricoat Color: First Look

One of a handful of changes to the 2024 Cadillac Escalade-V and its extended-length configuration the 2024 Cadillac Escalade-V ESV is the addition of a single, exclusive paint color, Black Diamond Tricoat, to its available exterior paint palette. Here is a closer look at the new Black Diamond color.

Tagged with color code GLK and touch-up paint number WA-815T, Black Diamond Tricoat is one of nine available paint colors for the 2024 Cadillac Escalade-V and Escalade-V ESV, which include:

  • Argent Silver Metallic
  • Black Raven
  • Crystal White Tricoat
  • Dark Emerald Metallic
  • Dark Moon Blue Metallic
  • Galactic Gray Metallic
  • Radiant Red Tintcoat
  • Sandstone Metallic
  • Black Diamond Tricoat (new for 2024)

Black Diamond Tricoat can be optioned on the 2024 Cadillac Escalade-V and ESV exclusively for an additional $1,995. The color has very limited availability but has been offered on various Cadillac special editions across the years. It is among the new 20th Anniversary features offered on the Escalade-V to celebrate two decades of Cadillac’s V-series vehicles and is offered in conjunction with both Escalade-V interior colorways.

As a reminder, here are the interior colorways available on the Cadillac Escalade-V:

  • Jet Black
  • Dark Auburn with Jet Black accents

For motivation, the Cadillac Escalade-V is equipped with a single powerplant, the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine developing 682 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 653 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm. Cog swaps are provided by the GM 10-speed automatic transmission, linked to an active AWD system featuring variable torque split and an electronic limited-slip differential. The Cadillac Escalade-V is capable of going from zero to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds, achieving the quarter mile in 12.74 seconds at 110 mph.

Other standard equipment for the Cadillac-V includes Air Ride Adaptive Suspension and Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 dampers, as well as a multi-link rear end. Stop, while P275/50R22SL all-season tires provide the grip.

The Cadillac Escalade, including the Escalade-V, will receive its delayed mid-cycle refresh in 2025.

Under the skin, the Cadillac Escalade-V uses the GM T1 platform for structure, while production takes place exclusively at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

  1. When did they decide to have nine colors for the V. All those colors are for the non V model.

  2. Not really a first look by my definition. Digital representation is nice, but I’d call a first look an actual photo in the sun and shade.

    1. We have a black diamond 2013 Regal. Any photo can’t do it justice. You have to see it in person how it sparkles in the sun. It’s really unique. It cost us $1,000 extra but was worth it over the years.

      1. My 11 Vagon has it too. Interesting color. Almost looks like gold flakes embedded in the black in sunlight. i think a tri-coat, so it is more expensive paint, although not as much as they charge I’m sure.
