You Can Rent Valterri Bottas’ Holden Ute On Uber Carshare: Video

The 2012 Holden Ute is an eccentric ride all on its own, but this bright blue muscle truck allegedly owned by Formula One’s Valterri Bottas might just take the cake – and it’s available to rent right now on Uber Carshare for free.

Bottas, a “very famous race car driver,” calls the kitted-out Ute his “second car” in the vehicle’s description and claims that it’s customized specifically for Australian road trips. Of course, it features things like lots of boot space, a roof rack for surfboards, bike racks, fishing rod holders and a working fridge for day trips out on the water. But it doesn’t stop there.

Bottas’ 2012 Holden Ute is fitted with an automatic Bug Repellent System, a detachable Hills Hoist to dry out budgies (tight-fitting swimsuit), a sandal storage unit, and a freshwater shower built into the bed lid, because Bottas doesn’t “enjoy being sticky after a swim.”

Inside, this Ute has even more oddball creature comforts built in. There’s a “neck aeration system,” which Bottas says helps him when his mullet gets too hot. A sunscreen dispenser rests just inside the driver’s door to help prevent a trucker’s tan, while the passenger can enjoy a neck pillow for long-haul road trip naps. The steering wheel is covered in Finnish lambswool, and the horn sounds like a kookaburra because the sound “tickles” Bottas. There’s even a battery operated hair dryer, and a working pie oven for fresh pies on the run.

The 2012 Holden Ute is currently free to book in Melbourne, Australia, for a maximum of 48 hours between March 22th, 2024 and April 12th. Bottas asks that customers don’t take the vehicle off-road, leave the external modifications intact, and to return it in exactly the state it was borrowed in. While customers must pay up front to book the Ute, if it’s returned in pristine condition, all fees will be completely refunded.

Don’t take our word for it – check out what Bottas has to say about his 2012 Ute in the video below.
