The GMC Hummer EV was built with off-roading in mind, offering up a long list of trail-ready features to enhance the rig’s prowess in the dirt. However, that doesn’t mean some of those features can’t be used to show off on the street. Now, we’re watching as one GMC Hummer EV Pickup owner does exactly that, activating Crab Walk mode while riding on a set of 30-inch wheels.
Recently posted to social media, the video clip is brief, but gets the point across effectively. In the video, we see a white GMC Hummer EV rolling down the street on a set of 30s, the headlamps activated in the low light. The horizontal Hummer grille light, corner lights, and three roof amber lights glow brightly, but as impressive as the Hummer EV looks in factory guise, this particular example demands even more attention. The aftermarket wheels look massive, lifting the Hummer even higher off the ground and barely fitting inside the wheel wells. The wheels are finished in white, matching the white-and-black exterior paint.
As if that wasn’t enough to turn some heads, the driver decides to activate Crab Walk mode as well. For readers who may be unaware, Crab Walk mode is essentially a four-wheel steering system that turns the rear wheels in the same direction as the front wheels, with 7 to 10 degrees of rear-wheel angle. This allows the Hummer EV to move diagonally, which is useful when maneuvering through tight trails – or if you simply want all eyeballs plastered on you.
This driver is definitely going for the latter, and accomplishes their goal as onlookers pull out their phones to capture a video of the scene. It’s definitely quite the sight.

As a reminder, the GMC Hummer EV features GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium Drive motors, riding on the GM BT1 platform. Production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan.

1. It defeats the purpose of the vehicle.
2. Doing this on public streets is unadulterated buffoonery.
3. His money. His ride. Enjoy.
I’ll stick to modifying my late model Camaros and Corvettes.
“Carnival side-show”.
So much for brand integrity….
Oh come one guys. Are you such stiffs you enjoy anything? In life you need fun once in awhile
its natural habitat with its natural owner…………..
Why is there almost always a FAT guy involved with such nonsense?
Okay so this is his vision, I’ll just stick to Factory alternatives if I could afford one.
I would hate to be involved in an auto accident with one of these behemoths.
