Very Pink 2006 Chevy HHR For Sale In Malibu

Inspired by the third-generation Chevy Suburban – which itself was built from the 1947 to 1955 model years – the Chevy HHR is an interesting retro-inspired vehicle by modern standards. Offered as either a five-door station wagon or five-door panel van, the HHR has garnered something of a cult following due to its uniqueness. An exceptional example of the HHR has been listed for sale in California.

Posted for sale online in Malibu, California, the most striking feature of this HHR is undoubtedly the paint job, as pink adorns nearly every surface of this station wagon. Starting with the exterior, the only items that aren’t pink are the headlamps, taillights, roof rails, side markers, the tires themselves, and presumedly the license plate. It has an asking price of $6,900. That’s a little high for an HHR of this age and mileage, but you’re paying for an HHR like no other.

Moving to the interior, the Barbie-inspired theme continues. Only a few parts are spared from the pink craze, including select trim pieces, the gauge cluster, the infotainment center, seat belts, and the rear cargo mat. A few other unique details include fuzzy armrests and liners in the footwells, a rhinestone-studded steering wheel cover, and little pink crowns for the valve stem covers.

Regarding other details, 160,000 miles show on the odometer, and the owner claims to have a clean title in hand. Interestingly, the ad states that this HHR has three, not four, new tires mounted. It’ll be a fun surprise for the lucky next owner to figure out which tire hasn’t been replaced.

In other HHR-related developments, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) investigation into certain Chevy Cobalt and HHR units over rusted fuel lines came to a close back in August 2023. After years of litigation, it was found that there was a crevice between the heat shield and coating through which water and salt may enter. In addition, the administration found an 80-percent correlation between complaints and vehicles in operation across the salt belt.

Despite this, the NHTSA decided to close the investigation due to low manufacturer complaint/warranty rates for fuel line replacements in these areas and noted that the potential safety consequences are very low.

  1. I loved the non-pink HHR but this is NOT what Barbie would drive.

  4. Was never a HHR fan but owned a SS Turbo.

All black and 13 second 1/4 miles were a blast as a daily driver.

Few people knew I had 300 hp and you could really shock them.

The GM tune gave me Q3 psi boost for ten years. It also handled great. The GM Performance Division did a great job starting with little.

  7. 160K on the odometer for that asking price, does seem high. While I enjoy the color pink, I don’t think I could handle this much pink. Why didn’t they replace all 4 tires?!
