Velocity Modern Classics has pulled the sheets off its latest K5 Chevy Blazer Restomod, showing off a high-end build draped in black. It combines the old-school style of the classic K5 Blazer with a long list of modern updates and features. This 1972 Blazer hails from Velocity Modern Classics’ Signature Series and not only looks awesome but actually has the right stuff to tear it up off-road if so inclined. Of course, the price tag may make you think twice before you go bashing around on the local trails.
Right off the bat, this thing looks fantastic, with the classic K5 lines covered in black BASF Glasurit paint, then polished to a mirror finish. The exterior also incorporates JW Speaker LED headlights, chrome accessories, and a set of power steps. Four 18-inch alloy wheels roll in the corners, wrapped in 35-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain tires providing the traction.
A five-point roll cage with a blended matching canvas top provides the structure around the cabin, and all-new glass and weather seals were also added. The entire cabin was outfitted to the Velocity Signature spec, and there are Velocity-exclusive Dakota Digital gauges behind the three-spoke steering wheel. Further amenities and features include a Vintage Air air conditioning system, power windows, a Bluetooth-enabled digital head unit, and a modern audio system with a subwoofer. The tried-and-true naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT1 Small Block provides the power, the same V8 found under the hood of the C7 Corvette and sixth-generation Chevy Camaro. Output is routed through the 10L80 automatic transmission, while a Velocity Performance exhaust system directs the spent gasses. The automatic transmission feeds a Dana 44 front axle and a Dana 60 rear axle.
Under the skin, Velocity Modern Classics uses a Roadster Shop K5 chassis outfitted with Fox coilover shocks, four-wheel disc brakes from Wilwood, and an iBooster electrically assisted brake kit. There’s also a Velocity aluminum fuel tank.
Pricing is set at $360,900, with upgrades like two-tone paint, carpet, and a backup camera offered as well. Interested customers can contact Velocity Modern Classics for more information.

Love this Blazer, $370k? Only for a rich man. Velocity aluminum gas tank, hopefully they relocated it.
This is the vehicle pictured in the dictionary by the word “Blazer”. Not a fancy jacket. Not a semi-sporty CUV. THIS. Anyone can tell there are hours and hours of meticulous work put into building it, it is therefore necessarily priced out of reach of the person who would sanely use it for fun.
A beautiful toy for a rich person.
I am blessed to have an original 72 Orange with black interior that’s in showroom condition other than 40 inch Mickeys and crate 383 with FI & 700R. transmission with 513 gears I paid $7500 for it in 1992-LOL . I will never sell it God willing . My grandkids love it when I pick them up from school in it .
This is a very nice Blazer, but $360,000 is ton of money. If I could afford it, I’d buy a Bentley instead.
