General Motors has just announced the launch of a new personalized OnStar service in Argentina.

The automaker launched a new OnStar safety service in Argentina called “Acompañamiento seguro” or ‘Safe Accompaniment’ translated into English, which expands the portfolio of connected services of the company’s telematics platform in the South American country. In fact, Argentina is the first country in the region to offer the personalized Safe Accompaniment on-board assistance service for users of Chevrolet vehicles.

“OnStar is a differential that we carry forward as a flag of constant innovation for our Chevrolet vehicles when making the purchasing decision,” said Commercial Director of GM Argentina, Raúl Mier. “The market increasingly demands connectivity, whether for safety or also for on-board entertainment. Today we take another step forward to provide more connected services for our customers,” he added.

OnStar’s new ‘Safe Accompaniment’ service launched in Argentina is a personalized system designed to assist users during situations in which they feel vulnerable aboard their Chevrolet vehicles, the only brand that GM markets in the country. As such, Safe Accompaniment seeks to reinforce the safety of clients in the event of possible crimes or attacks that put their personal integrity at risk.

Available 24 hours a day, the ‘Safe Accompaniment’ service is activated by pressing the blue OnStar button to contact an advisor who will be attentive for up to 10 minutes monitoring sounds and possible crimes. If an attempted crime is identified, the advisor will apply the protocol to activate public services in the location where it occurs and will maintain a direct line with the user or their previously registered emergency contact.

“At General Motors, we have always prioritized the safety and peace of mind of our customers on board our Chevrolet vehicles. ‘Safe accompaniment’ reinforces that commitment,” said OnStar Leader at GM Argentina, Ana Rubini. “This new update reflects our dedication to providing innovative solutions that not only transform the way we travel, but also improve the quality of life of those who trust us,” she finished.
