Next-Gen Chevy Traverse Premier Spotted In The Wild

The next-generation Chevy Traverse made its formal introduction late last year with a long list of updates and changes, such as new exterior styling, a new cabin design, new tech features, and a new engine. What’s more, the trim level lineup was revised, with the Premier and High Country trims dropped for the 2024 model year. Nevertheless, the Premier is expected to make its return to the Chevy Traverse lineup in conjunction with the 2025 model year, as GM Authority exclusively covered previously. Now, the next-gen Chevy Traverse Premier has been spotted in the wild.

Caught in a parking lot in Michigan, images of the next-gen Chevy Traverse Premier recently hit social media, giving us a look at what the luxurious new three-row crossover has to offer.

From the off, it’s obvious this particular model is a higher-end trim level thanks to details like the silver detailing found front to back. That includes a horizontal silver trim piece across the front fascia dividing the large, square grille, as well as silver trim found lower in the bumper. The front end also incorporates C-shaped silver trim in the sides of the fascia. To note, the current Traverse RS incorporates dark-colored trim, rather than silver.

Moving over the the profile, we see black mirror caps and black trim around the side windows, while a Traverse badge is seen along the lower edge of the front doors. The wheels are big, sized at an estimated 22 inches in diameter, and include a unique split-spoke design that mixes black and silver finishes.

Finally the rear end provides us with a dead giveaway that this is indeed the new next-gen Chevy Traverse Premier, per the badging on the hatch. We also see clear taillight lenses, while the trim around the four square exhaust pipes is silver.

To note, GM has yet to officially announce the return of the Premier trim level to the Chevy Traverse lineup for the latest third-generation crossover. However, we expect the new Chevy Traverse Premier to share similar equipment with the 2024 Chevy Traverse RS, per yet another GM Authority exclusive.

As a reminder, the third-generation 2024 Chevy Traverse is equipped as standard with the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine. Under the skin, the Traverse rides on the GM C1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.

  1. Would like to see it in that purple color that is coming. Looks good. A darker color would add some dramatic contrast to the Premier silver and chrome.

  2. Soooo there is 2025 model year spotted in the wild before a 2024. Cool cool

    1. I like the looks of the 2025 model Traverse RS or Premier exterior. Owning a 2018 Traverse High Country, I find it hard to downsize to anything comparable in accessories. What sold me on my Traverse was the interior color. It was a unique tan leather, suede accent. I would buy the 2025 models if they offered something other than black interior. I dislike black because it is hot in the summer, even with cooling seats. I don’t understand why they would not offer an option on the interior color. I really will not buy another GM model if all they offer is black interior for all their models. I will forfeit my GM discount because of it.

  3. No tan/beige/white interior color = NO SALE!

I prefer the landscape screen in this compared to the portrait behemoth in the upcoming Acadia. It’s classy and useful without being obnoxious on my 2024 2500 HD, so I expect this to be more of the same, well thought-out design. Better center stack layout with everything more at eye-level without clogging up the dash.

I would most likely buy the new Traverse if they planned on offering anything other than a black interior.

    What a joke.

Mary needs to be on the hot seat with all these poor decisions, quality failures, and botched vehicle rollouts.

    1. you can clearly see a lighter interior in this unit. I agree RS trim with only black is a bummer interior.

      1. Let’s perform an exercise, shall we?

Go to the Chevy website. Navigate to upcoming vehicles and select the 2024 Traverse. Proceed to click through all of the trim levels and see the interior color options.

You let me know when you find a tan or beige option — or anything beyond dark black/gray.

        1. Well the Premiere is not on the website yet. Usually a variation of brown/tan/saddle is an option at the top of the line on other Chevrolet products, we shall see if the trend continues.

  4. The 25 Premier’s front clip is more to my liking than the new 24 models. I would be a buyer if they would do something with the ugly rear side windows. I won’t drive a vehicle with those windows.

    2. Who buys a family vehicle based on looks? It is a tool, which one works best. You are 40+ with kids, looks should be the least of your worries…

The same people who buy their furniture, clothes, their homes, etc… based on looks. You sound like you’re bored and trolling for an argument.

  6. Nice looking. But those wheels are a no go for a Premier. They look like they belong on an RS trim level. The Premier is supposed to be a luxury trim with more brightwork. They need to rethink the wheels…. And a Beige interior offering is a must.

    1. You are absolutely right! Those wheels are a deal breaker for me, a two time Traverse buyer. And yes, brighten up the interior.

      1. Huh, so wheels can’t be changed? You would buy an inferior vehicle because you don’t like the wheels which could be changed? Wow, the entitlement of people these days is comical…

        2. The new Traverse has very few consumer selected options available. For $57,000++ I expect to be have more than one wheel option. With the exception of The LT if you get the Midnight/Sport package, Each trim has one wheel option.

        3. Wow! Really? You really think that someone who parts with 50 thousand plus dollars is “entitled” because they want wheels that please them? You’re making a fool of yourself pal.

  9. I’m new here but I don’t understand the desire for a light colored interior for a family vehicle. There are hundreds of cars to choose from on the market. If the Traverse isn’t offering a light color interior why not look at one that does or get an aftermarket leather kit so the interior can be just about any color you want.

    1. Sorry if you don’t understand. Anyway, who wants to purchase a new car, then pay for an aftermarket leather kit to change the color of their new car’s interior?
There’s no reason a manufacturer can’t offer an option of a light or dark interior. Not everyone likes a dark interior, and not everyone likes a light interior.
One more thing while I’m at it … Who says the Traverse is strictly a “family car”?

      1. Chevrolet markets the Traverse as a family vehicle, it’s literally in the first sentence when describing the vehicle on the website.
I don’t work for Chevrolet but I’d imagine that they have done some research and found that people do not desire light colored interiors enough to warrant making that an option or they just decided they wanted to only make black interiors for every trim besides the LT trim level because they felt like it. Either way I don’t think complaining about it on an online forum is going to get them to change anything. Like you said not everyone is not going to like light or dark interiors, fortunately the Traverse is not the only vehicle on the market so there are other options with light interiors.

But they didn’t say it’s “strickly” a family car.

    2. First, I live in Texas. Enough said why I won’t do a black interior. I have been looking forward to this traverse overhaul for 3 years. I was ready to buy but the dark interior is a no go in the Texas heat. If they don’t end up offering something in a light frey or tan I will definitely switch to something else. Not a chevy. It is definitely not just a family car. I wanted a suv with a third row seat with as much room as possible without going into a Suburban or something similar.

      1. I’m in TX too. June to August heat is ridiculous. Consider a Tahoe, if you would rather not having a full-on Surburban, which I def understand.

Surburbans def cannot fit in most garages.

On the issue of Traverse, more seat colors would be nice. Also Bench Seating option in RS Trim.

I also do not understand why Ventilated seats are only offered in RS Trims. Why not also include in LT as an added feature.

      2. I picked up my Black LT with Black evotex seats on Friday and I live in Phoenix, AZ where the summers are just as bad if not worse than in TX. Once it gets over 90 degrees it doesn’t matter what color your cars seats are they’re still going to be hot. My family and I are enjoying our new vehicle black seats and all.

        1. What’s the difference between Evotex and Genuine Leather? I heard Evotex lasts longer (is that true?)

Also, were you able to get Ventilated Seats added to your LT ?

          Reply
          1. from what I have read exotex is more durable and more resistant to staining than genuine leather but it also doesn’t feel quite as nice as leather it’s not like the vinyl seats from the ’80’s but it isn’t as supple as leather. I do not have ventilated seats but I am fortunate in that I park in a garage most of the time.

  11. Most competitors have announced their 2025 line-ups already. Any of you all think GM might announce the 2025 Chevy Traverse any time soon?, or wishful thinking, since 2024 Traverse has barely hit the market just now?
