Karma Gyesera EV Unveiled As Cadillac Celestiq Rival

Southern California-based Karma Automotive has unveiled the new Karma Gyesera, the luxury vehicle maker’s first all-electric sedan. The Gyesera made its formal introduction at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance over the weekend, and is part of Karma’s new strategic and branding direction under Marques McCammon, who took on the role of company president a year ago. The four-door is expected to launch at the end of 2024, and when it does, it will rival the Cadillac Celestiq.

“The Gyesera is an exotic battery-electric vehicle that blends aesthetics, craftsmanship, driving dynamics, comfort and quality,” said Karma Vice President, Global Design, Michelle Christensen. “It’s beautiful, has a lower nose for a dynamic, faster feel, and it provides the most visceral canyon carving experience. The Gyesera is the most badass GT on the road.”

In terms of specs, the Karma Gyesera packs an all-electric powertrain capable of doling out 590 horsepower and 693 pound-feet torque, propelling the four-door from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds, with a top speed around 135 mph. Making it all possible is a 120-kWh battery pack providing upwards of 250 miles of range.

The body is made from carbon fiber and aluminum, and presents a sleek, sporty design with a long hood line, exaggerated rear haunches, and a low roofline, recalling the original Fisker Karma. The exterior dimensions include an overall length just under 200 inches. Vehicle weight is set at 5,300 pounds.

Karma says that Gyesera production will be limited to 2,000 units over the next four to five years. Prices are expected to range between $175,000 and $225,000.

The debut of the Karma Gyesera follows the debut of the Karma Kayeva coupe last November, the automaker’s new all-electric two-door model producing more than 1,000 horsepower and capable of sprinting to 60 mph in less than three seconds, with a top speed greater than 180 mph.

  1. How is it supposed to rival a Cadillac that is 227 inches long and has a range of 300-plus miles, with a price tag over $250K more?
It’s unlikely there will be a Celestiq under half a million dollars, given they are all hand-built to customer specs, and you know how that goes. Stich patterns do add to such things when its one-off.
I am confident it is an excellent vehicle, but its no Celestiq rival, perhaps a Porsche Tycan rival, or Model S plaid and lucid air. But that range is too low at only 250 miles gets killed by Tesla.

  2. How many incarnations will this hideous thing have? It’s hideous because you have to be a midget to drive it and that’s OK for a sports car but not a 4-door sedan.

  3. The only rival the celestiq has is the spectre and whatever Bentley choose to be their ev flagship. This is in the eqs range in my opinion

  6. Wasn’t Bob Lutz supposed to buy the rights to fisker karma under the VLF Automotive brand a while back? Was that just a rumor?

  8. Beautiful car inside and out. Strong performance too. However, the range is kind of weak and it’s not affordable for most.

I can’t say that this car has any original design attributes.
