General Motors unveiled the all-new 2025 Chevy Equinox earlier this year, debuting the crossover’s latest fourth generation. Per previous GM Authority coverage, production of the four-gen Equinox is slated to begin this summer, several months later than initially expected. Now, GM Authority has learned when dealers can order the 2025 Chevy Equinox.
According to GM Authority sources, order books for the 2025 Chevy Equinox will open on April 18th, 2024. Production of the 2025 Chevy Equinox will begin June 17th, 2024, almost exactly two months later than original projections. Production of the 2024 Equinox at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico is scheduled to wind down June 15th, 2024.
The 2025 Equinox introduces a long list of changes and updates for the crossover, including new styling that lends it a more-rugged, truck-like attitude. The exterior dimensions are new as well, with an extended wheelbase and longer overall length, while the overall width is 2.3 inches wider than that of the outgoing model. The exterior also incorporates LED lighting, wheel sizing up to 20 inches in diameter, and a shark-fin-style C-pillar.
The Activ trim level is also new for the 2025 model year, offering a unique front fascia with an off-roader-style appearance. The Activ also features all-terrain tires wrapped around 17-inch aluminum wheels and premium Evotex upholstery.
Speaking of the cabin, the new Equinox includes an 11-inch diagonal driver information center and 11.3-inch digital infotainment screen. There’s also six-speaker audio and available wireless device charging, while Chevy Safety Assist is standard, adding in features like Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning.
As for the powertrain, the 2025 Equinox cradles the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine as standard. The GM D2 platform provides the underpinnings.

Dont like gear shift on wheel perfer shifter on floor who needs all that room plus what about wiper lights all on other stalk like resting arm on shifter use to it .plus i hear the lights on dash stupid having to change screen what if i need to flash to pass do away with automatic light just have all light come on when you start save money on sensor on dash
Taking away the floor shifter is smart. Most people do “prefer” more room. High beams can still be activated “flashed” if necessary by pulling back on the stalk. Automatic high beams known as “Intellibeam” can also be turned off if so desired. The safety improvements and tech continue to get better and better. Great job GM.
Flash to pass is a pull, turning the high beams on is a push. The added storage space is a good thing.
The amount of safety tech is getting out of control. Some of the safety features are great, some are stupid. If you are that bad at driving that you need all the electronic babysitters, you should not be driving. All these electronic do-dads just drive up the prices on new cars that are already out of control.
Considering how many people drive distracted by looking up TikTok videos while they drive, these safety features could help them from not hitting you. Yes, Americans have really gotten that bad at driving.
Pay attention PEOPLE. It’s just that simple. It’s your obligation as a driver.
