Launched for the 2020 model year, the Cadillac XT6 has received only minor changes since, and we questioned if the brand’s largest crossover would even be offered for the 2025 model year. Now that we’ve learned that there will indeed be a 2025 Cadillac XT6, GM Authority also uncovered when production of the XT6 is currently scheduled to start.
The start of regular production (SORP) of the 2025 XT6 is currently scheduled to kick off on July 8th, 2024 at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee. Of course, this production start date is tentative in nature and subject to change at any time.
There are no major changes expected for the 2025 Cadillac XT6 as compared to the current 2024 model, which itself featured updates like reshuffling of paint colors and the addition of Bronze Accent, Blue Accent, Red Accent, Onyx and Onyx Lite appearance packages. That being said, it’s worth noting that the XT6 will receive a mid-cycle refresh or an overhaul in the Chinese market. Meanwhile, a second-generation Cadillac XT5 will soon debut in China, and images of the new model have already been leaked by the country’s authorities.
As a reminder, the current 2024 XT6 is offered with the choice of either the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, or the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. Regardless of powerplant options, the GM nine-speed automatic transmission is equipped as standard fare, while FWD is standard and AWD is optional.
Under the body panels, the XT6 rides on a variant of the GM C1 platform, which it shares with the Buick Enclave, Chevy Traverse, Chevy Blazer, GMC Acadia, and Cadillac XT5.

Can’t Wait… Remove the tail lights and fog lights, and this may possibly be the most generically styled vehicle GM produces. The XT6 really epitomizes the soul-less nature of today’s CUV centric automotive landscape.
I’m thinking Cadillac was planning on the Lyriq being a huge sales success and a replacement for the XT6 but had to change plans quickly to keep an ICE vehicle in that market. Frankly I think the XT6 looks good in the right colors (not another white SUV PLEASE ).
This car is dated.. Needs refresh just like its corporate siblings have been. Traverse, Acadia, Enclave.
The exterior paint selections on the current XT6 leave a lot to be desired. Bring back the black cherry and the midnight blue. Ditch the cobalt…and put some depth in the paint. Worn out current colors.
Put a twin turbo & refresh the interior
