The 2025 Cadillac XT5 is poised to launch an all-new second generation for the crossover nameplate, which, at present, is expected to be offered exclusively for the Chinese market. That said, GM Authority recently reported that the first-generation XT5 would live on for at least one more model year here in North America. Now, GM Authority has learned when the North American-spec 2025 Cadillac XT5 will begin production.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the North American-spec 2025 Cadillac XT5 is currently scheduled to begin production on July 8th, 2024. To note, this date may change in the future. As was the case previously, production for the North American market will once again take place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.
Per previous GM Authority coverage, the current Cadillac XT5 will be replaced by an all-new second-generation model in the Chinese market. As such, it was previously unclear if the XT5 nameplate would live past the 2024 model year here in North America, as the current first-gen model is now at the end of its lifecycle. However, GM Authority later learned that GM would offer a 2025 Cadillac XT5 in North America that, for the moment at least, will be a continuation of the current, first-generation crossover.
As a reminder, the first-gen Cadillac XT5 offers two engine options, specifically the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. The GM C1 platform provides the underpinnings.
Meanwhile, the second-gen Cadillac XT5, currently expected to be a Chinese-market exclusive, is set to introduce new styling and an overhauled cabin, as outlined in a series of leaks and spy photos. Production of the Chinese-market XT5 takes place at the SAIC-GM Jinqiao Cadillac plant in Shanghai.

Cadillac you are doomed, you do not listen to the Cadillac customers. The XT5 refresh is not worth it, hardly any changes, I’m taking my business elsewhere.
Correct all the way around
That’s too bad they won’t offer the USA ( where they were born) the updated version of the XT5. I was going to buy it but now will go to Lexus RX350. Good Bye forever!!!
