Following up on the 2023 launch of the midsize pickup’s third generation, the 2024 GMC Canyon introduces a handful of updates and changes. Inside the cabin, the only notable change is standard inclusion of the 11-inch Driver Information Center (RPO code URF) in place of the previous 8-inch screen. Today, GM Authority is looking at the currently available GMC Canyon interior colors.
The 2024 GMC Canyon is offered in four trim levels, including the base Elevation trim, the off-road focused AT4, the luxury-oriented Denali, and the range-topping GMC Canyon AT4X. There are six combinations of Canyon interior colors and materials, with the following table showing availability details:
Interior | Seat Trim | Color Code | Elevation | AT4 | Denali | AT4X |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Jet Black | Cloth | H2Z | S | - | - | - |
Jet Black | CoreTec | HXR | A1 | - | - | - |
Jet Black/Timber | Cloth/CoreTec | HV6 | - | S | - | - |
Jet Black/Timber | Perforated leather | HX6 | - | A2 | - | - |
Jet Black/Teak | Perforated leather | HNN | - | - | S | |
Obsidian Rush | Perforated leather | HV1 | - | - | - | S |
- Included and only available with (WPL) Elevation Premium Package
- Included and only available with (PCU) AT4 Premium Package
Notably, the CoreTec seat material offered in combination with the GMC Canyon interior colors of the Elevation and AT4 trims was introduced on the all-new third-gen 2023 GMC Canyon. CoreTec is a synthetic leather material that is very durable, resists stains and spills, and is easy clean. The General filed to trademark the name in 2023.
Pricing for the 2024 model year has been revealed by GM Authority, with the Elevation and AT4 trims now $800 cheaper than in 2023 following replacement of the Three Years of OnStar & Connected Services Plan (RPO code R9M) with a cheaper alternative. AT4X pricing rose $1,100 while the Denali trim’s price remains unchanged. Starting price ranges from $37,595 for the 2WD Elevation to $55,895 for the AT4X. The model’s configurator has been live since late December.
As a reminder, only a single powerplant is available to supply motivation to the 2024 GMC Canyon. The turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine cranks out 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. This high-output engine tune gets the TurboMax branding for the 2024 model year. For cog swaps, the base Elevation gets standard 2WD and optional 4WD, while the AT4, AT4X and Denali trims are equipped with 4WD as standard.
Under the body panels, the Canyon is underpinned by an updated variant of the GMT 31XX platform. Production of the truck takes place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.

It is obvious GM is color blind. Total joke for color options.
All choices in “Henry Ford” black.
What’s it going to take to get these manufacturers to offer something other than black interiors? I avoid buying these vehicles with all black interiors – they don’t get it.
The coretec trim looks like it came out of a school bus. My dealer had two Elevations with MSRPs over 50K and the coretec trim. The cheap interior materials are not even worthy of a 20K vehicle. The AT4s and Denali (44,595 and 52,595 respectively ) are much better. The AT4X’s white with red accents are a deal breaker. Who is the genius at GM who thought it was a good idea to put a white interior in a hard core off road truck?
someone who never used a truck off road at GM is in charge of the colors.
It’s such a shame that all that’s available nowadays IS BLACK AND MORE BLACK INTERIOR COLORS No real choices anymore, They ever think that there are people that would enjoy the light, airy, open colors of a bright interior? Guess that this fantasy of EVERYTHING Black is contagious. Shame on GM.
Canyon interior colors look a heck of a lot better than the Colorado’s. Been thinking about changing my mind ordering a Colorado Z71 for a Canyon AT4 for this exact reason.
go canyon, more upscale.
I wish that car manufacturers would go back making the interior color the same as the outside of your car like in the 70s beautiful colors like blue, reds, green, almost any color you wanted in an interior they did then why not now? It’s not just GM it’s all car manufacturers they have to be black, tan brown or white or light grey come on.
Hate BLACK! It’s an ugly lifeless color. Obsidian “Black” Midnight “Black” Jet “Black”. Call it what you like, black is black is black. The big bulky screen is also very unattractive and unappealing.
Who are these designers? Must be brainless and without feelings. Who is deciding that everyone has to have black anything inside or out? Hideous!!
Keep it. I’ll look for something old! Not a fan of this lifeless look, it’s like being in a coffin. Maybe that’s the idea.
Wow Kat..I agree with you but it’s not about being a dark person or company it’s about cost. I agree would love a green, red, or blue interior I to am si l of black and tan, black and cream, black and grey! The Corvette has it so why not at least offer different colors as an option…this is the solicit take over everyone should be happy with the colors we offer and thas it.
