Just days after revealing powertrain details of the Wuling Bingo Plus, SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) has just officially launched its all-new electric vehicle in China.
General Motors’ second joint venture in China launched the all-new Wuling Bingo Plus as the newest member of the brand’s growing new energy vehicle (NEV) portfolio, arriving to expand the lineup and build on the strong momentum it has had the Bingo EV hatchback in the Chinese market. The small crossover goes on sale simultaneously with two distinctive variants.
The all-new Wuling Bingo Plus becomes Wuling’s first all-electric crossover and officially transforms the Bingo nameplate into the first family of zero-emission models of GM’s best-selling brand in the Asian country. As such, the new Bingo Plus complements the initial model’s offering by positioning itself above the Bingo EV to meet the needs of customers requiring a little more cabin and cargo space.
As GM Authority reported at the time of the vehicle’s official presentation, the all-new Wuling Bingo Plus is based on a completely new variant of SGMW’s Global Small Electric Vehicle (GSEV) platform, allowing it to adopt a unique body with raised proportions and larger dimensions than the original Bingo EV. Although it adopts a similar design, the Bingo Plus has more muscular shapes and fewer rounded styling elements.
Initially, the Wuling Bingo Plus is launching with two trim levels called Ultimate and Flagship, which only differ in battery capacity. Both versions have a single electric motor that develops 75 kW or 100 horsepower along with 180 Nm or 133 pound-feet of torque, while the Flagship equips a 50.6 kWh battery pack for a range of 510 kilometers or 317 miles, and the Ultimate has a smaller battery providing a range of 401 kilometers or 249 miles.
The all-new Wuling Bingo Plus is now available for sale throughout Wuling’s extensive network of official dealerships in China, the vehicle’s country of origin and only confirmed market to date. Interested customers will be able to choose the new crossover in a total of three body colors called Aurora Green, Storm Gray and Quantum Black. Here is pricing for the two Bingo Plus trim levels in the Chinese market:
- 2024 Bingo Plus Ultimate: 89,800 yuan (about $12,500 USD at the current exchange rate)
- 2024 Bingo Plus Flagship: 98,800 yuan ($13,750 USD)

$14,000 for 300 miles. If evs will be a success it will be at that price. American manufacturers can’t compete with that internationally.
This is a GM product. You got to be suspicious their MPG cycle parameters. In comparison to Europe, the US EPA rules of MPG are most stringent.
I don’t disagree that the EU and North American regulators are more stringent. However, unlike certain competitors, GM tends to present slightly under-estimated EV ranges – at least on North American models so I don’t quite get the accusation that GM is inflating their ranges.
Since this is a GM product with no domestic equivalent, bring it to the Americas to compete and take away sales from Asian brands imported, mostly from Japan and South Korea. The profit from sales stays under GM in the Americas.
More and more BEVs for China and this 1 has LFP battery which is durable, safe and cheap.

Here in USA, NEVs are gaining market share, but MSM bluffs the opposite.
For no reason, US govt expects vehicles to be heavy with extra thick steel which only consumes more fuel.
Someday, slowly these EVs will make its way to USA.
