The GMC Sierra HD picked up the Heavy-Duty Pickup segment win for the first time in the 2023 Automotive Loyalty Awards, presented by S&P Global Mobility.
The automotive research firm determines loyalty on the basis of existing new vehicle owners subsequently buying another vehicle of the same make, model or manufacturer. The 2023 Automotive Loyalty Awards were determined by purchasing data from the calendar period of January 2023 to December 2023. Loyalty is determined when a household that owns a new vehicle purchases another new vehicle of the same make, model, or manufacturer. The new vehicle may be a replacement vehicle or a new addition to the household’s fleet.
The GMC Sierra HD was recognized for exceptional customer loyalty last year, meaning that owners of a new Sierra HD often buy another unit of the heavy-duty pickup when returning to the market. This is the first time that the Sierra HD has been recognized for the award, but it’s not surprising, especially considering that GM itself won the Overall Loyalty to Manufacturer in 2023, signaling that GM owners are satisfied with the automaker’s products and often head to the dealer to purchase another.
The GMC Sierra HD joins other GM vehicles on the podium in the 2023 Automotive Loyalty Awards, including the Cadillac CT5, winner in the Luxury Small Car division, alongside the Chevy Bolt EV and Chevy Bolt EUV in the Small Car category.
The 2024 GMC Sierra HD brings quite a few changes and updates to the heavy-duty pickup, such as a new front bumper, new fascia, a new grille, and six new exterior colors. The revised trim level lineup now includes the premium 2024 GMC Sierra HD Denali Ultimate, recognizable by its Vader chrome exterior trim, 20-inch Ultra-bright wheels and an Alpine Umber interior. The refresh also introduced the capable GMC Sierra HD AT4X, ready for off-road applications right from the showroom floor.
The GM T1 platform underpins the GMC Sierra HD, and production is handled at the GM Flint plant in Michigan.

It will be interesting to see what happens next year, after owners realize what Google built in is all about. And the fact that you can’t use your built in GPS Navigation system if you don’t pay for an unwanted OnStar subscription.
That seems criminal to me, since my 2003 and 2014 Corvettes, and my 2018 Sierra Denali had very nice built-in GPS navigation systems, that I could use without the need for an unwanted OnStar subscription.
So is S&P Global similar to what Sweet Baby, Inc is in the video game industry? Just larger and more expensive?
