GMC Sierra HD Tow Truck Driver Caught Speeding 60 MPH Over Limit In Ontario: Video

Sometimes, it’s like a driver is going for a high score when breaking traffic laws. Such is the case with a GMC Sierra HD tow truck driver in Canada, who recently managed to collect an impressive list of charges that included traveling more than three times the speed limit down the wrong side of the road. Luckily, the stunt didn’t result in a collision, although the driver is now facing the legal consequences of their actions.

According to Canadian news source CTV News, the GMC Sierra HD tow truck driver was charged by Peel Regional Police for traveling at 137 km/h (85 mph) down a road with a posted speed limit of 40 km/h (25 mph). According to the report, police state that the incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. local time near Teldo Street and Queensway in Ontario, Canada. Luckily, no one was hurt, but the GMC Sierra HD driver now faces a revoked license and an impounded truck. Additionally, the 27-year-old driver was charged with a long list of offenses, including speeding, racing a motor vehicle, failing to stop at a stop sign, driving the wrong way, failing to properly wear a seatbelt, stunt driving, and careless driving.

Peel Regional Police took to social media to shame the driver, stating “this tow operator was stopped for completely unacceptable driving behaviour” and listing the various charges, as well as a photo of the GMC Sierra HD tow truck.

It’s unclear whether the driver was actually towing anything at the time, but either way, it sounds like they weren’t exactly operating the truck in a safe manner. Indeed, traffic laws still apply even if you’re driving down the wrong side of the road.
