About GMC Savana

The 2024 GMC Savana arrives with two new transmissions being the only changes for the Passenger Van, Cargo Van, and Cutaway configurations. While, initially, the 2024 GMC Savana cargo van dropped the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, it is now available again, joining the atmospheric 4.3L V6 LV1 gasoline engine as the only two powerplants offered on the 2024 Savana. Additionally, 2024 GMC Savana infotainment system upgrades are no longer available, leaving the 2024 Savana with only a single infotainment option, namely the base audio system consisting of the AM/FM stereo with MP3 player. That system includes an auxiliary jack and two front-door speakers.

Pricing for the 2024 GMC Savana shows significant increases, ranging from $1,600 to $2,900 (including cargo, passenger, and cutaway models). The destination freight charge also increases by $100 to $1,875.

While the Chevy Express and GMC Savana were thought to be discontinued after the 2025 model year, GM had plans to redesign the Chevy Express for the 2027 model year, keeping the ICE powertrain. However, a recent report by Autoweek indicates that The General may have canceled plans for any next-generation vans.

Interestingly, contrary to humourous beliefs, the Express and Savana were actually tested in a wind tunnel.

The online configurator is live for the 2024 Savana.

Production of the 2025 GMC Savana is currently scheduled for October 7th.

  1. Every day it seems there’s some meaningless update on these old vans. Is the rest of the GM lineup so incredibly devoid of news or information that no discount on a cargo van that’s been in production for decades is newsworthy?

  2. Hey, I posted this article was coming on the earlier article of the same regarding the Chevy version. You would think they were building very low volume of both by the same company. They will never pay off the tooling at this low production rate, LOL.
