GM has launched a customer satisfaction program offering a fix for a problem with the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq and 2024 Cadillac Lyriq dashboard storage tray, though the bulletin does not provide details of exactly what the problem is.
The customer satisfaction program, number N232428240, applies to both 2023 and 2024 model years of the Cadillac Lyriq, and the fix is offered free of charge through March 31st, 2026. The bulletin states the “instrument panel center storage compartment does not function correctly,” which refers to the tray located underneath the HVAC controls on the instrument panel. GM provides no specific info on the incorrect function.
However, from Cadillac Lyriq owner commentary on social media sites, it appears that the issue is the failure of the storage tray to fit flush. The fix available for the problem consists of the dealership replacing the storage tray with a new component. A new part may need to be ordered, while the replacement itself requires less than half an hour.
GM previously fixed several issues with the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq, as detailed in other service bulletins. One such fix from March 2023 involved modifying a defective windshield molding retainer bracket to ensure a better fit. The General also addressed a more serious issue when it published a service bulletin with a remedy for vibration during a turn, with a potential need for replacement of the intermediate shaft bolt.
The number of 2023 and 2024 Lyriq crossovers affected by the current stowage tray issue is not specified in the bulletin. The repair must be carried out by an authorized EV dealer.
As a reminder, the 2024 Lyriq RWD is motivated by a single motor mounted on the rear axle that develops 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq AWD is equipped with two electric motors, one for each axle, producing a combined 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque.
Both configurations utilize Ultium battery and GM Ultium Drive motor technologies. In terms of range, the RWD variant gets 314 miles on a full charge, while the AWD version provides 307 miles from a full charge.
Under the body panels, the Cadillac Lyriq is supported by the GM BEV3 platform. Production is currently under way at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.

I have this issue. Closed fine and looks flush but with driving vibration it opens so that it sticks out about 1/8” from flush.
What about the “beta testers” who have a 2023 and were first to notice and report this deficiency?
My tray has jammed up several times over past 5 months. Will be taking it in for service. Very poor design, items can get wedged in there easily.
