General Motors has announced that it is resuming sales and deliveries for the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV after the automaker issued a stop-sale order for the all-electric crossover to resolve software quality-related issues. The stop-sale order was issued in December. In addition to lifting the stop-sale order, GM also announced new price drops for the Chevy Blazer EV, as well as further vehicle enhancements.
“We have made significant software updates that will improve features and functionality to deliver on the high expectations of our customers,” GM said in a statement. “We’re confident these improvements will address concerns heard from some early owners and as promised, we’re carrying learnings over to other products in GM’s lineup.”
The Chevy Blazer EV once again qualifies for a U.S. EV tax credit up to $7,500. To note, GM is still offering a $7,500 incentive for certain GM EVs that do not qualify for the tax credit, such as the Cadillac Lyriq.
“As announced recently, pricing for Blazer EV’s entry level trim – the LT FWD, will start under $50,000 (excluding tax, title, license and dealer fees),” GM states. “We will announce final pricing for this and remaining models (RS FWD, SS) closer to their on-sale date.”
Check out the table below for revised pricing information regarding the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV, which includes the $1,395 destination freight charge:
Trim Level | Drivetrain | Revised MSRPs | Previous MSRPs |
---|---|---|---|
2LT | FWD | TBD | TBD |
2LT with WPN Convenience and Driver Confidence Package and ZFT Comfort and Convenience Package | AWD | $50,195 | $56,715 |
RS | FWD | TBD | $57,595 |
RS with ZL5 Convenience and Driver Confidence Package | AWD | $54,595 | $60,215 |
RS with ZL5 Convenience and Driver Confidence Package and UQA Bose premium 8-speaker system | RWD | $56,170 | $61,790 |
SS | AWD | TBD | $65,995 |
In addition, GM announced a few enhancements for the all-electric Blazer, such as customizable multi-color ambient lighting, as well as revised Driver Information Center graphics that incorporate a battery percentage display.
“We are excited to have the Chevrolet Blazer EV available again, this time with a compelling price, enhanced features and functionality and qualifying for the full consumer tax credit,” said Chevrolet Vice President, Scott Bell. “I encourage customers to visit their nearest Chevy dealership to test-drive this amazing vehicle.”
As a reminder, production of the 2024 Chevy Blazer began in June of the 2023 calendar year at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico. The crossover rides on the GM BEV3 platform and incorporates GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium Drive motors for motivation.

How about just stop the nonsense and pushing EVs down the public’s throats when they aren’t enough surplus of charging stations, lackluster range especially when towing, using a/c, or driving faster, and the extremely long wait for recharging.
You don’t have to buy one, most people never tow anything ever, A/C doesn’t impact range much at all, most people charge at home 98% of the time. Now put on your gasoline cologne and go to your MAGA rally.
Bruce, I would have wanted to like everything you said; however, you threw in MAGA, and that diminished everything you said.
You came out as another nutter.. on the opposite side.
Aww…little Brucie.
Show us on the doll where the big, bad Orange Man touched you…
I agree the Maga comment was gratuitous. However, it is note improbable that there is a strong overlap in those who are opposed to EV’s and those who support Trump. There is a lot of misinformation out there, and Trump is one very large source of it. EVs are NOT more harmful to the environment, even factoring in mining of materials.
Why bother explaining. IF they applied the same to everything else they would still be in horseand buggy. How many miles do they think the first model T get…with a 5 gallon tank? Who do they think started the cell phone that was brick size selling for what several K at first or they would still be running their tube tvs instead of flat panels……soon those that move on will driver cheaper. Those that resist will own the refineries. Me I will keep one of each as each has a good use by I must say using an EV would be more likely in day to day driving vs the truck. But thats just me and moving on.
MAGA stands for Make America Great Again, how is that bad? Do you want us to make China great? How about Russia. I see nothing wrong with rooting for the home team.
Actually we are continuing to make Mexico great. They have a great economy that is not mentioned. We are their unemployment office as we are for the rest of central and south America and maybe the rest of the world.
There are plenty of other countries you can choose from, if they will have you.
EVERYONE is an immigrant here. Unless you have dinosaur DNA, you came from somewhere else. Just because you came from one far away place (that probably killed and plundered the people you are chastising) doesn’t give you any rights over others.
What this has to do in relation to EV’s is—nothing.
Where were you when GM was “pushing” Full-size trucks and SUVs or crossovers “down our throats?
Understand, GM is in the business of making money and saw where the industry is trending. Just because you don’t like EVs doesn’t mean their very existence is being forced on you.
GM isn’t coming to your house, repo-ing your truck and forcing you into an EV.
Preach
they will have access to tesla network within weeks…..what are you talking about?
You and everybody else, they are going to get full fast.
I didnt say Tesla superchargers are only place to charge, I am saying that gives people 14k more charge points that they would have otherwise.
Extremely long wait to charge? Where? On the road when your taking a pee or takign a dump, getting coffee or shooting the breeze with strangers? Oh I see. But yes on towing. But then again you can keep an ICE for that as the majority of truck owners I am willing to bet just own one for SHOW not real work that are none business/farm use.
With an ICE vehicle I don’t have to worry about wasting time talking to strangers. My tank is filled in 5 minutes max. Add another 5 if I buy coffee or use the restroom
EV vehicles are not for everyone. You buy a vehicle for your needs and a EV for towing is not in the cards thought it get advertised.
$50K for an entry level small sized SUV?! Stop it with this EV nonsense. Nobody wants this crap.
this is only a little more than loaded gas blazer at this point- that model can exceed $50k
I could make a case for a Bolt or Bolt EUV, as a commuter vehicle. The Blazer makes no sense to me. I can’t make the numbers work.
It may be a little more, but it comes with a lot less features than the ICE model. Comparably equiped to atop of the line ICE Blazer you’re looking at $80k
thats a lie, and he blazer EV tops out under $60k now.
When you compare the Blazer EV with competation, its a smoking deal

Throw in super cruise and BMW is not even in the picture.
Your throwing to much info at them. They have never probably looked beyond a Chevy let alone GM.
Even the Lyriq is a better deal. And its a better looking car that doesn’t look like a rodent with that stupid beaver-tooth grille BMW has been using.
This isn’t a small SUV. It’s larger than the ICE Blazer.
Still priced too high, even with the so-called incentive, which SHOULD be a price reduction and not a tax credit.
Fixing half-baked software issues after the fact has to give folks a bad taste in their mouths.
the current tax credit is taken off at time of sale…..
Well dont say it like that though it is if the dealer is signed up. The problem is many may not OWE 7500 at tax time which is required! Unless they lease. And therein lies the problem for some maybe.
this not true, the dealer can discount 7500 and the government sends them a check in the same amount.
What about Canadian blazers are they getting price reduction too?
Should be a good test case if customers trust the ‘fix’ after the launch fiasco. Should also serve as a good test case for the absence of CarPlay/AA.
I wonder if people ask the same thing when the doctor uses that automated robot that has regular software updates and until its used again one does not know if its going to slice and dice you or delicately slice you. I am just saying. But point taken. I always said the software is probably shoddy off shore coding let alone testing going on rather than TOTALLY in the USA on teams right here that is managed properly with all the reight tech persons coding and testing it. You would think after the VOLT and BOLT they learned a lot to apply to all these now.
lol pricing is ridiculous. Go get a well optioned HEV or PHEV for $10,000-15,000 less the base model. Cheaper, better for the planet, better optioned/equipped.
Don’t worry, truck and SUV buyers will continue to fund GMs faltering EV endeavours
what comparable PHEV costs $15k less than this?????
A loaded Sorento PHEV is $50,000, approx $16,000 less. That good? Google for other makes and models. HEV too.
Usually the intelligent route is doing your own research before being proven wrong. But you know what they say about people who open their mouths…
$16k less than what? NOt sure what you are talking about. With new pricing, this model starts at $52k and tops out under $60k. How in the world is that $16k more than a loaded sorentao PEV??
A LOADED Sorento PHEV AWD is $16k less than a loaded blazer. Or the same price as the BASE blazer. 2 2 is 4 and the grass is green, any other basic concepts you need? Come on man, just look at the pricing.
the blazer Ev does not top out at $66k, period. The SS is supposed to cost that much but its not out and its hardly comparable to sorento hybrid. Get real
Then $10k difference, for non-SS. My point stands as stated from my original comment “$10,000-$15,000”. Get off the EVs nuts, these EVs are overpriced and worse carbon footprint. Every automaker is realizing this now and are course correcting, lol you’re the stubborn one.
I was stating prices before subtracting $7500 for the rebate. Add that in and your numbers are way off. With that a RWD Blazer RS EV is in the low $50k range.
PHEV still gets $7500 in some places, too. Gov rebates shouldn’t be included, they aren’t guaranteed and aren’t eligible on all vehicles. Step aside, no need to die on the EV hill. I haven’t even mentioned the wild depreciation…
It’s cool you like your EV, and you’ve come to terms with its carbon footprint and future environmental impact once youre done with it. But they aren’t the saviour that was being pushed so heavily 3-5 years ago. Nothing critical to their success has come true.
I dont have an EV. Never said anything about them saving the planet so take your arguments elsewhere. The info you were providing about the price gap was inaccurate, its that simple. If you such firm ground to stand on you dont need to make up numbers to show that the Blazer costs $15k more than a gas powered equivalent. If everything you are saying is correct its a terrible buy at any price simply because its an EV- so just say that. EVs suck in general so the details of this or any other model are irrelevant.
lol my point about pricing wasn’t wrong, though. So what are you carrying on for? Your head has got to be pretty far up your rear end to not like EVs and still argue against easily referenced MSRPs. My word you are dense.
Starting at ~$50k for an electric Karenmobile. Oof.
Just like many of the above coments using the word “MAGA” as discussed above, people like you just CAN’T HELP yourself, instead of adding something productive to the discussion, or saying what you like or dont’ like….you resort to making up silly names to try to make yourself seem clever ‘I guess’ which usually just result in it being a shot at someone who LIKES the product you are talking about. Its incredible.
Oh good. Somebody with a brain and well versed in GM history spoke up and reminded the execs that pricing a Chevrolet on par with its Cadillac sibling is asking for these to pile up on the lots. $50k is still steep for a Chevrolet mid-sized SUV but atleast its a bit more reasonable.
there are very few 5 seat non luxury SUVs left that have 250+ hp. The Blazer, VW crosssport, Honda Passport and very few others. Im pretty sure all of them can get very close to $50k loaded. The reality is that this has to compete in price with Mach E, Ariya and Model Y- its not apples to apples with gas powered CUVS
Loaded yes. Base price without options, no. And while yes I get your comparison makes sense, most consumer don’t care. They see the initial cost. They don’t care about long term savings and only see the initial high price. And as long as carmakers fail to realize this EV demand will remain DOA. The early adopters have saturated now. Now its time to win over the mass market.
the prices shown are BEFORE the $7500 credit which means you could now get a blazer EV for less than some of the models you are talking about. Not sure what part of this is not sinking in.
And you think these credits are going to stick around forever? They aren’t. Its not sustainable. And when they do then that’s when demand truly falls off a cliff.
I’m talking about the price right now. No one knows what any vehicle will cost years in the future. Thought that was obvious. So you’re suggesting people shouldn’t buy one now because the rebate may not exist in several years? Uh, ok.
I am sure it is just coincidental that winter is ending for much of the country as they finally release the EVs for sale.
My local crappy dealer just added the different between the MSRP as a ADM and then took the $7500 off the ADM. What a joke.
Great that GM finally lowered the over bloated price of the Blazer EV. But it is still way too overpriced.
Just for reference, the Tesla Model Y starts at $43,995 and yeah it still gets the $7500 Tax Credit. This is the steal of the automotive Industry currently.
The Model Y Performance is $55,00 with all the options added (NOT Including FSD)
GM cannot think that they can price their Chevrolet vehicle higher than the Model Y and think most consumers will chose the Blazer.
Once these Legacy automakers realize they need scale then they might survive the monumental shift that is taking over the entire automotive sector around the World.
As a GM fan I really hope they can figure this BEV shift soon but I am not confident that they will as of now. I was excited when they announced their original plan but they are showcasing that they cannot mass produce and more importantly they cannot properly price their EV’s for the marketplace. I am officially getting concerned regarding GM’s future.
Keep BYD, Geely, and others out of our marketplace for as long as possible. Will become a bloodbath otherwise.
All Legacy dragged their feet and now they are all begging their Governments to make up huge tariffs to keep Chinese brands away. That will not work long term though.
Man GM really had a chance to be the so called Android to Teslas (Apple) but it is looking like it most likely will be BYD.
What a HUGE letdown by GM.
But sure lets all keep arguing about EV’s and ICE when the Auto Industry might be crumbling in the future all around us.
As a GM fan I hope they become the absolute best EV maker in the World not because I hate ICE but because I will always root for GM to be the best. Not just for things I like.
Tesla’s have their benefits, but let’s not pretend they are God’s gift on wheels. Especially since the Blazers have access to the Supercharger network. And if you want buttons for climate, stalks for signals or an actual design you might not want a Tesla.
The blazer looks better, has a nicer interior and has more features.
Tesla drops pricing every other week- not sure how GM or anyone else would know when they launch a vehicle that Tesla may drop their prices by $3k or whatever the next week. Its my understanding that the low base price for model Y only applies to one color combination- I think its white with black interior or something like that. I think Alex on Autos addressed this- he said if you want any other color combination the new base price is about $3k higher since every other exterior color costs $1500 and the light interior is about the same cost increase. Its very obvious that if people are only concerned about price in this segment there is little reason to get anything other than the Y which is the Toyota Camry of EVs at this point- they are everywhere and they are boring. I can tell you I am seeing tons of Hyundai Ioniq 5 models and even MB EV models in spite of the fact that you can get a Model Y for less money. People are looking for other options in the EV marketplace. Its funny how perspective changes depending on what company is discounting- back in the day the American automakers were derided for needing to rely on lower pricing and incentives to keep the numbers up. We were told people will pay more for a premium product which is why higher quality foreign branded models didn’t need to engage in price slashing to move metal. Now Tesla is increasingly dependent on eye popping value to keep their delivery numbers up and its being heralded as genius.
I have yet to run into anyone that truly is ordering an EV Crossover and has chosen the Blazer over a Tesla Model Y
I never stated that the Model Y is the perfect vehicle but for the money, it is by miles the biggest steal in the automotive landscape. Not sure how that can even be argued.
The blazer has barely sold any units- how would you have come across anyone who has chosen it over Model Y? In addition, the price cuts were just announced last week. Not sure where you live but in my area I am seeing tons of Hyundai/Kia EVs and an increasing number of German branded EVs as well as some Mach E models. The point is in spite of the value offered by the Model Y not everyone wants one. Not sure how you can argue that. The same thing you are saying about the Blazer EV is what many said about the gas Blazer when it came out- why would anyone buy it when there are cheaper alternatives- but it still found buyers.
