GM Releases Fix For Corvette Z06 Auto Park Function Issue

GM has released a service update for certain units of the 2023 Corvette Z06 and 2024 Corvette Z06 with a fix for an issue related to the automatic shift to park function.

Tagged with Service Update number N232413030, some 2023 and 2024 Corvette Z06 cars equipped with the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine may have a problem causing the automatic shift to park function to fail in what GM describes as “certain rare and unique conditions.” To correct this issue, GM service technicians are instructed to reprogram the Engine Control Module or ECM. No parts are required.

It’s unclear at the moment how many 2023 Corvette Z06 and 2024 Corvette Z06 units are affected by this issue. The fix is available until the end of each Vette’s new vehicle limited warranty period.

While GM Authority previously reported on pricing for the 2024 Chevy Corvette C8, newer information revealed a $2,100 price hike for all variants of the Corvette. Starting MSRP rose by $2,000, while destination freight charge or DFC was increased by $100 from $1,595 to $1,695. The lowest-cost Corvette remains the Stingray 1LT Coupe with a starting price of $69,995.

For the 2024 Corvette Z06, prices now range from $111,795 for a 1LZ Coupe to $132,345 for a 3LZ Convertible. This track-ready vehicle is the most expensive Corvette model, with the 2024 Chevy Corvette E-Ray positioned in the middle between the Stingray and the Z06.

The 2024 Chevy Corvette got several new features and technologies for the model year. Standard Lane Keep Assist and Lane Departure Warning features were added to its active safety technology lineup. All variants also received Automatic Emergency Braking and several other safety features, bringing the Vette up to parity for the first time with the safety systems offered on other GM vehicles.

Turning to aesthetics, the 2024 Corvette gets new drive mode animations, with fresh visuals to accompany switching into Tour, Weather, Sport, and Track drive modes. The animations make piloting the machine “a more exciting experience” according to GM. Additionally, the model had the Artemis Dipped interior colorway added to the palette of available cockpit colors.

As noted, the 2024 Corvette Z06 is exclusively motivated by the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine. This powerplant develops 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.

All C8 Corvette models are underpinned by the GM Y2 platform, while production for the 2024 model year officially started in September 2023 at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.
