As GM Authority previously reported, there are two fresh colors on the horizon for the 2025 Chevy Trax. Now, we’re bringing you a first look at the brand new exterior hues for the compact crossover.
The two new paint colors are known as Cypress Gray (paint code GBD) and Marina Blue Metallic (paint code GKN). Marina Blue, a cheery bright blue, is offered on all 2025 Chevy Trax trims. Meanwhile, the subtle, cool Cypress Gray is only available for the LS and LT trims. Both colors are no-cost options for the Trax.
As a reminder, the following list represents all available colors for the 2025 Trax (relevant paint codes listed in parentheses):
- Cacti Green (GVR)
- Crimson Metallic (GFM)
- Mosaic Black Metallic (GB8)
- Nitro Yellow Metallic (GCP)
- Sterling Gray Metallic (GXD)
- Summit White (GAZ)
- Cypress Gray (GBD) (new for 2025)
- Marina Blue Metallic (GKN) (new for 2025)
The 2025 Chevy Trax is the second model year of the compact crossover’s second generation. The overhauled Trax was subject to significant updates, making it longer, wider and lower than its predecessor. Specifically, it measures in at 178.6 inches in length, 71.7 inches in width not accounting for mirrors, and 61.4 inches in height. Inside, that translates to three extra inches of rear legroom and a 12 percent larger cargo capacity.
Outside, the second-gen Trax features design elements similar to that of its big brother, the Chevy Blazer, now incorporating The Bow Tie brand’s signature two-tier “highbrow” headlight treatment out front with thin horizontal lighting signatures atop the headlights.
Under the hood, the 2025 Chevy Trax harnesses the E85-compatible turbocharged 1.2L I3 LBP gasoline engine, which is capable of 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. That engine mates to the GM six-speed automatic transmission, exclusively powering the front wheels.
Production of the 2025 Trax, which rides on the GM VSS-F vehicle set, kicked off in early March at the GM Changwon plant in South Korea. Pricing starts at $21,495.

I like the blue.
Recycled GM colors.
The trucks need some of the Trax paints, like the cacti green.
Well, Marina Blue is hideous. Was afraid of that. The current Blue Glow is pretty but this blue is simply obnoxious. It’ll last only a year.
Gotta love the tree pollen on the top photo.
Yup looks like cartoon blue or Hot Wheels blue.
I like both, but once again it is impossible to “fully judge and hand down an opinion from on high” with only a CGI to go on. Gives us an idea of what to expect.
While I like the Marina Blue color, (It kind of reminds me of my old mid 90s S-10 Bahama Blue Metallic color) We’re glad we got our 2024 Trax in the Blue Glow color. It looks great on the Trax!
Marina Blue looks nice now have the interior match the exterior!
I believe on the LT you have a choice of blue or yellow interior details.
Hopefully it is built better then the 2024 my daughter bought . Had 4 months been to shop 4 times
I feel your pain. My 2024 Trax Activ has been back to the dealer twice in 6200 miles. Once to have a cargo liner installed, and again for an oil change. I really don’t understand this.
LOL!
Definitely happy I got the Fountain Blue when it was available. Cause the Marina Blue is not my cup of tea at all. But I’m sure there’s plenty who will like it.
If that marine blue is anything like the marine blue on the Equinox, its gorgeous.
Did they improve the motors on the Traxs they have a history of motor failure
These use a totally different engine, nothing on these is related to the 1st gen Trax, except the badges.
Maybe this new color blue won’t peel off from the primer in huge patches like the blue paint on the 2015 & 2016 models. If it does good luck getting GM to fix it.
3 cylinders. lol
