Chevy Launches Two 2024 Corvette Limited Editions In Japan

Chevy is launching two limited-edition 2024 Corvette variants for the Japanese market, with only 40 total units on offer, or 20 per model. Each of the limited-edition models is based on the Corvette C8 Stingray and includes a selection of specific aesthetic enhancements for the exterior and interior. Pricing starts around 15,100,000 yen ($101,840 at current exchange rates).

The first limited-edition Japanese model is called the Edition CERV I, giving a nod to the Chevrolet Experimental Research Vehicle created by Zora Arkus-Duntov (sometimes referred to as the “father of the Corvette”) to explore the mid-engine capabilities of America’s sports car. The Edition CERV I is available in Coupe 2LT trim (starting at 15,100,000 yen, or $101,840, and limited to 15 units) and as a Convertible (starting at 18,900,000 yen, or $127,468, and limited to 5 units), and features Silver Flare Metallic paint (color code GSJ), Edge Blue full-length racing stripes, five-spoke carbon flash wheels, Edge Yellow brake calipers, and a Jet Black interior.

The second limited-edition model is called the Heritage Edition, and is offered in Coupe 3LT trim (starting at 17,400,000 yen, or $117,352, and limited to 15 units) and as a Convertible (starting at 18,900,000 yen, or $127,468, and limited to 5 units). Features for the Heritage Edition include Sea Wolf Gray Tricoat paint (color code GXA), a rear spoiler, 20-spoke gloss black wheels, and Edge Yellow brake calipers, plus an Adrenaline Red Dipped interior with red seat belts, and Competition bucket seats with perforated Nappa leather upholstery.

Notably, Japan-bound units of the C8 are produced from the factory in right-hand drive, rather than converted to right-hand drive after production. The C8 is also available in right-hand-drive markets such as the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand.

As a reminder, all Corvette C8 Stingray variants cradle the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine, rated at 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque without the factory performance exhaust system, and 495 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque with the factory performance exhaust system. The GM Y2 platform provides the underpinnings across the C8 Corvette lineup, while production takes place at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

  2. 6.2 l engine for japanese market. Do they really buy it.
And its neither plugin nor plugless hybrid.

Look closely, the # of cars sold by GM & Ford in Japan annually is < cars sold by Toyota daily in USA.

But they do buy a lot of German cars.

  4. Many customers in the USA would love to purchase the new 2024- 2025 C8. You cannot get them without waiting for years. Don’t like giving my money to dealers earning interest on my deposit.
