About Chevrolet Camaro
The 2024 Chevy Camaro arrived as the ninth and final model year of the sixth generation, featuring a pair of special-edition variants. These include the 2024 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition, as well as the 2024 Chevy Camaro Collector Edition, both of which offer their own unique content and varying levels of exclusivity to pay homage to the first-gen Camaro’s internal program code of “Panther.” The Collector Edition was offered on all trim levels, but only the ZL1 could be ordered with Panther Black Matte paint, the first matte paint option ever offered on the Camaro.
Additionally, the 2024 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Collector Edition includes a Shinola Canfield Sport 45mm watch, which is now being shipped to owners.
A boatload of other changes and updates for the 2024 Camaro included dropping two paint colors, the Shock and Steel Edition package, the lowered suspension package and the sway bar package, the 20-Inch Caliente wheels, the base 1LS trim level, and the turbo 2.0L LTGÂ engine. Additionally, the 2024 Camaro SS 1LE Suspension Handling Package became unavailable, while the full SS 1LE Track Performance Package remained available to order.
Pricing for the 2024 Camaro rose anywhere from $2,600 to $5,000, depending on trim level, along with a $200 increase to the destination freight charge to $1,595. Check out all of the 2024 Camaro pricing with options and packages.
The online configurator tool is no longer live for the 2024 Camaro, with buyers instead being given the option to search the available inventory of the discontinued model. Keep an eye out for 2023 models inventoried near you to take advantage of the aforementioned Chevy Camaro discount.
Final units of the Camaro Convertible were produced this past November 22nd, and the last Camaro Coupe was built on December 14th, bringing production of the muscle car’s sixth generation to an end without an ICE successor in the works. 2024 marks the end of the Bow Tie brand’s muscle car – at least for now.
GM built a total of 1,335 units of the 2024 Chevy Camaro Collector Edition.
“Camaro is a passion product,” a Chevy spokesperson said of the end of the Camaro, noting that “it has developed a fan base across the world and has brought people into Chevrolet dealerships for generations.” In summary, “the sixth generation specifically represented athleticism and composure – exuding confidence on the road and dominance on the track.”
Recently, Hendrick Motorsports debuted a 40th Anniversary Edition of the Chevy Camaro, which will be sold exclusively through select Hendrick Automotive Group Chevrolet dealerships to add yet another special variant as the iconic muscle car sunsets.
Looking forward, GM has confirmed a next-generation Chevy Camaro to keep the nameplate alive, but we don’t know when we’ll see it. Global Chevrolet Vice President Scott Bell stated, “While we are not announcing an immediate successor today, rest assured, this is not the end of Camaro’s story.”
The Camaro name may not be applied to a single model but to a broader EV sub-brand. Some of the models would likely resemble the familiar Camaro with coupe and convertible variants, while others might be sporty two-door and four-door crossover SUVs, with a mid-priced sports car as the brand flagship.

Wow. And just how many are available in the shortened production year? Bet any LT1, SS or ZL1 have a tremendous dealer markup and they are hard to find. Read here that many customers didn’t even get their orders picked up before foolishly dropping Camaro. Meanwhile, ICE Mustang carries on and Dodge will soon release a Charger coupe with your choice of a new dual turbo in-line Hurricane 6 cylinder or EV built on the same chassis. Little lower case gm gives up another market. When the bubble bursts on their $60 to $100K pickups and SUV’s, they are in trouble.
Well said, Davy. It’s still galling to me how Corporate treated this car and it’s buying customers…..especially the untold number of people on GM Authority who have written how they ordered and placed a down payment on a car that never arrived. How many loyal Chevrolet customers have these corporate types snubbed? It’s a disgrace. People will not forget how they were treated by GM and the local Chevy dealer in these final years of Camaro production…..
Ford still soldiers on with a redesigned Mustang while Dodge/Stellantis had very little overlap time between the last of the Last Call Challengers and Chargers & the arrival of a new-from-the-ground-up Charger that will offer both Battery Electric and internal combustion! And to boot, a choice of 2 or 4 doors. Incredible when you have leadership that still loves the american muscle car (Dodge) and leadership that seems to not give a darn. (GM Corporate)
Have commented before……..I was one that ordered a 2024 LT1 Convertible in early August and was left standing at the alter……..dealer got allocations for 5 each 6 cylinders but no LT1 or SS……..long time Chevrolet purchaser and still own 6 that I purchased new……..can’t even get a V8 in a short box regular cab……..Thanks Mary.
In early 2023 I put money down at THREE different dealers for a ZL1. None of them got an allocation (at one dealer I was admittedly several orders deep but got in line nonetheless). These were not small town dealers either.
Out of sheer dumb luck I found one last summer online in transit to a dealer 30 miles away. I jumped on it and took it home. I asked the dealer if it was a sold order that someone backed out of or if it was ordered for inventory. They said neither- GM just decided to send it to them . . .
My dealer in Minnesota….Stillwater Motors is an EXCLENT dealer…they did everything they could to move my order forward…….and they are the best dealer I have ever worked with with on purchase and service. To be shut out like this is a travesty.and they disserve better GM service to their Customers…..I wanted what I ordered and should have been able to purchase that………too many non Customer ordered Camaro’s available out there that no one wanted………….What a sham…….and now discounts and lease options on the STALE STOCK….
Mary the emBARRAssment.
GM should’ve put every customer order placed by Oct 1, 2023 ahead of all orders for stock.
