Originally introduced for the 2019 model year, the unibody Chevy Blazer has been a reasonably popular offering in its segment. It consistently placed roughly mid-pack over the course of the 2023 calendar year. The average transaction price (ATP) of the Bow Tie midsize crossover rose only slightly during Q4 2023.
According to a report from Cox Automotive, the average transaction price of the Chevy Blazer increased 0.9 percent on a year-to-year basis, making for the smallest percentage gain of all Chevy products. Meanwhile, sales of the crossover rose just 0.13 percent to 16,653 units in Q4 2023.
It’s worth noting that Chevy sales fell 0.5 percent overall to 406,848 units in Q4 2023. Meanwhile, General Motors’ sales, overall, stood at a 0.2 percent gain to 619,684 units.
Due to the 2023 model year mid-cycle refresh, the current 2024 Blazer lineup didn’t receive any significant updates. As such, this mild change in ATP was to be expected.
Regarding the aforementioned mid-cycle refresh, the 2023 Blazer was highlighted by an updated front and rear fascia, interior upgrades, and a revised trim lineup. Perhaps the most significant update was the 10.2-inch infotainment screen as standard equipment on every trim.
As a reminder, the turbocharged 2.0L LSY I4 gasoline engine, rated at 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, is equipped as standard on the 2LT, 3LT, and Premier trim levels. Meanwhile, the naturally aspirated 3.6L LGX V6 gasoline engine, rated at 308 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, is standard on the RS model and offered as an option on the 3LT and Premier trim levels. Both powerplants are matched to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission, while FWD is standard and AWD is optional.
Under the body panels, the Blazer rides on the GM C1 platform. Production of the current 2024 Blazer kicked off in July 2023 at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico. Looking forward, production of the 2025 Blazer is currently up in the air, as the Ramos Arizpe facility is set to transition to EV-only production later this year.
