The midsize mainstream crossover segment, comprised of models with a starting price in the vicinity of $30K, grew eight percent to 512,575 units during Q4 2023. That means Chevy Blazer sales underperformed the segment average.
The GM Authority Take
Chevy Blazer sales were flat during the fourth quarter of 2023 as inventory supply of the midsize crossover recovered with strong numbers in November, placing 13th among 23 entries. Overall, GM placed fifth among 11 automakers with a nine percent share when combining Chevy Blazer sales with the Traverse and those of the GMC Acadia. We expect the next-generation 2024 Chevy Traverse and all-new 2024 GMC Acadia to improve The General’s ranking here once their respective launches are fully underway.
About Chevy Blazer
The 2024 Chevy Blazer arrives with a few changes and updates, including standard heated front seats across the lineup and a new paint color complimented by five interior colorways.
Furthermore, 2024 Blazer Arctic Packages get expanded availability. Originally offered on the 3LT trim level for 2023, the Arctic Package 1 and 2 are now both available on the 2LT trim for 2024.
GM Authority has learned that the Chevy Blazer will not offer a new range-topping High Country trim level, though we think the automaker should.
This past August, the Chevy Blazer was noted for having top-quality seats by data analytics firm J.D. Power, and the Blazer won the Strategic Vision 2023 Total Quality Impact award in the full-size utility category.
However, the 2024 Chevy Blazer lost its Consumer Reports “recommended” rating due to below-average reliability.
While it initially looked like GM might not even make a 2025 Chevy Blazer, GM Authority has confirmed that GM will indeed offer a 2025 Blazer for North America, though no significant changes are expected for the ICE-powered Blazer.
The Blazer offers two engine options, including the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, which is rated at 230 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, along with the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, which is rated at 308 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque.
In July 2022, the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV made its official debut, ushering in the Bow Tie brand’s mass-market electric crossover. Headlined by a maximum GM-estimated range of 320 miles from a full charge, the Chevy Blazer EV will be available in front-, rear- and all-wheel drive configurations, while the trim level lineup will include 1LT, 2LT, RS, and Blazer EV SS, along with a Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV) model for law enforcement, making it the quickest police package ever offered by Chevy.
Chevrolet is even bringing back a Super Sport model with the first-ever 2024 Chevy Blazer EV SS. A standard dual-motor powertrain delivers up to 557 horsepower and 648 pound-feet of torque in the crossover, enabling a zero to 60 mph time of under four seconds in the Wide Open Watts (WOW) acceleration setting. Additional performance-focused features include a specific sport-tuned chassis and Brembo front brakes.
The Chevy Blazer EV is among NACTOY’s “Best of 2024” list, being among the 25 vehicles advancing to the finalist round of the 30th annual North American Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle of the Year Awards and one of 10 semifinalists for 2024 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year.
The Chevy Blazer EV was also named the 2024 MotorTrend SUV of the Year. The publication says that the 2024 Blazer EV is “easy to drive, easy to live with, easy to use,” offering a “fiery” design with real “swagger.”
With the Blazer EV now on sale (see running Chevy Blazer EV sales), we look forward to seeing how the Blazer EV performs in the marketplace — especially compared to ICE-powered Chevy Blazer sales — and the impact of the coveted high-performance Blazer SS model.

Comments
I bought my first new vehicle a chevy blazer in 2019. I’ve had a humming/clunking sound at 1500 rpm that the dealer said they could not hear for about a year and a half now. I know my vehicle can’t be the only 2019 blazer that has this problem. Very disappointed with chevy dealership not fixing my vehicle so this will be my last chevy I purchase.
@ Diane Nadeau every car from every manufacturer has issues…if I where you I would take my 2019 Blazer to a LOCAL INDEPENDENT MECHANIC and have him/her look at you engine noise and see if can hear anything and tell you what the problem is, and then if there is a problem have your mechanic do a written report that you can take to the stealership ahem cough dealership and have them look at his written report of you Blazer and if the local mechanic will do it have him call the dealership as well explaing the problem! Then if the dealership still says there is nothing wrong they are liars and trying to get out of doing warranty work, then you can contact GM corporate! That’s what I would do.
