About Cadillac XT6
The 2024 Cadillac XT6 arrives as the fourth model year of the first generation of Cadillac’s largest crossover. It received a few changes and updates, the most significant being a trio of accent packages GM debuted, namely the new Red Accent Package, Blue Accent Package, and Bronze Accent Package.
Also, the price increases by $200 for each trim level on the 2024 XT6. Check out all the 2024 XT6 pricing with options and packages.
In December, the Cadillac XT6 fared poorly in the updated moderate overlap front crash test of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Yet, the 2024 Cadillac XT6 received a “Recommended” for the first time from Consumer Reports.
Overall, Cadillac ranked average in the Consumer Reports 2024 Reliability Report, though it still placed above the average dependability of U.S. automakers. However, the luxury marque ranked below average in the J.D. Power 2024 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study.
After wondering if the luxury marque’s largest crossover would even be offered beyond the 2024 model year, GM Authority has learned that GM will offer a 2025 Cadillac XT6 for North America, with production scheduled to kick off on July 8th.
We’ve also confirmed that a new Cadillac XT6 will debut this year in China, inspiring us to list five things we’d like to see from the XT6 update for North America.

The XT6 should be upgraded to the new Acadia and Traverse platform asap. Buick Enclave and XT6 are the premium brands, you would expect GM to launch new models to be competitive with the less expensive divisions. Not everyone wants an Escalade or Yukon, GM’s timing is suspect. Putting too many eggs in the EV basket is costing them, variety is the name of the game. The ICE models need hybrid versions desperately. GM seems to always be slow responding to market trends, with fewer divisions to manage they should be more responsive. It’s a trend that needs to change, it seems like they aren’t trying very hard to stay up. GM has no answer for Bronco or Maverick, what is going on? It doesn’t make sense to let competitors expand at your expense. GM is capable of being more competitive, Cadillac and Buick are dismal examples of mediocrity. Lyric is a bright spot, Celestiq is a waste of effort.
