Slotting between the Cadillac XT4 and the Cadillac XT6 in the luxury marque’s crossover lineup, the Cadillac XT5 was one of the best-selling Caddy models throughout Q4 2023. The XT5 saw its average transaction price (ATP) drop slightly during the same timeframe.
According to a report from Cox Automotive, the average transaction price of the Cadillac XT5 dipped 0.4 percent to $55,480. Meanwhile, sales of the luxury crossover declined over 23 percent to 6,496 units in Q4 2023, making for the second-largest Caddy decrease behind the XT4 at 28 percent.
It’s worth noting that sales of the luxury marque itself dropped seven percent to 36,378 units in Q4 2023, while overall General Motors sales stood at a 0.2 percent gain to 619,684 units.
Of course, the XT5 hasn’t seen many notable updates since its mid-cycle refresh for the 2020 model year. As such, reasonably stable ATPs are to be expected. However, this could be due for a change, as GM Authority reported that General Motors is considering the feasibility of bringing the second-generation 2025 Cadillac XT5 to North American shores. Previously, this all-new generation was only intended for the Chinese market.
The XT5 faces tough competition in the 2024 model year. The segment-leading Lexus RX just got a thorough redesign for 2023, and the Lincoln Nautilus is all-new for 2024. Both of those rivals start at around the $50k mark, strengthening the Cadillac’s value proposition.
As a reminder, Cadillac offers the current 2024 XT5 with the choice between two engine options. These powerplant choices include the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque.
No matter which powerplant option prospective buyers opt for, every XT5 model is equipped with the GM nine-speed automatic transmission as standard fare. Drivetrain options consist of either FWD or AWD.
Regarding structure, the 2024 XT5 rides on the GM C1 platform, while production kicked off in June 2023 at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.

Low interest rates and deferred payments DON’T WORK, dummies. Buyers want BIG cash after all these absurd price increases since early 2020. Party’s over!
Youl can’t sell cars if you don’t have inventory.
When gm announced that the xt5 was to be abandoned in North America, myself and others looked toward other brands. Fortunatly, the announcement came in time for me that the xt5 was staying . This is my second xt5 platinum trim and my third caddy.
I want to see the 2025 model price.
I say bring back the coop I have a 2012 caddy 3.6 performance coupe perfect just for one person stylish all the other cars look the same and then caddy all the new caddies. They basically looked the same too. I say let’s stand out branch out and looks sharp like we used to what’s wrong with that.
It appears GM and Cadillac are not paying any attention to their loyal customers let alone trying to attract new customers. We want availability and do not want four bagger engines and do not want an XT5 made in China. Since when is it okay for upscale Cadillacs to settle with four baggers? The modern Cadillac brand has suffered by not offering V8s as an option in all Cadillacs. In the past Cadillac was very innovative and ahead of the luxury vehicles with V8s, V12s and V16s. How sad now that GM and Cadillac are giving the market away…!!!
Not one single vehicle GM sells in the US is made in China. The only GM vehicles built in China are sold in China due to how China regulates their trade
