2025 Cadillac CT5 Production Start Delayed To May

Per previous GM Authority coverage, production of the refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5 has already been postponed once by roughly a month to the end of April 2024. Now, it appears as though the start of regular production (SORP) date of the 2025 CT5 has been delayed once again.

GM Authority has learned that the production start of the 2025 Cadillac CT5 is now scheduled for May 6th, 2024 at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan. Notably, the reasoning behind this delay was not revealed.

As is evidenced from the two postponements, these SORP dates are tentative in nature and subject to change at any time. Additionally, the high-performance variants of the luxury sedan – including the CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing – are on a different production schedule and will thus feature their own dates. As such, the aforementioned production start dates apply to the CT5 Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels.

With that in mind, the revised 2025 CT5-V has already been officially revealed, along with the 2025 CT5-V Blackwing.

As a reminder, the 2025 Cadillac CT5 sees several improvements for the new model year, including an updated front fascia. This revised design features new lighting elements with unbroken vertical lines and stacked LED headlamps similar to that found on the Cadillac CT4 and Cadillac CT6.

In regard to the interior, the cabin is now highlighted by a curving 33-inch-diagonal LED color display with 9K resolution, with a customizable user interface. Tech goodies include Google built-in with Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play, as well as OnStar and an available 5G Wi-Fi hotspot. In addition, the Luxury trim level has been dropped, and Super Cruise will be fitted as standard.

Under the hood, the 2025 CT5 features the standard turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and the optional twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 LGY gasoline engine, rated at 335 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. The GM 10-speed automatic transmission will be standard equipment across the board, along with standard RWD and optional AWD. The V Performance Package previously available on the rear-wheel-drive Sport trim has been discontinued.

As for structure, the refreshed luxury sedan will continue to ride on the GM Alpha 2 platform.
