2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Deep Bronze Metallic Paint Built Out For Model Year

The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 is the sixth model year for the latest fourth-generation pickup, bringing with it a selection of updates and changes over the preceding 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. Now, however, GM Authority has learned that the Deep Bronze Metallic paint option has been built out for the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. It’s currently unclear if Deep Bronze Metallic will return for the 2025 GMC Sierra 1500.

Tagged with paint code GXN, Deep Bronze Metallic was initially introduced to the GMC Sierra 1500 lineup for the 2023 model year as one of three new-for-2023 colors, the other two of which were Sterling Gray Metallic and Volcanic Red Tintcoat.

Per previous GM Authority coverage, the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500’s Dynamic Blue Metallic paint option (paint code GLT) has been built out for the 2024 model year as well.

The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 was originally available with 11 different paint options. In addition to Deep Bronze Metallic and Dynamic Blue Metallic, options included (relevant paint codes listed in parentheses):

  • Cardinal Red (G7C)
  • Downpour Metallic (GXP)
  • Onyx Black (GBA)
  • Sterling Metallic (GXD)
  • Summit White (GAZ)
  • Thunderstorm Gray (GNO)
  • Titanium Rush Metallic (G6M)
  • Volcanic Red Tintcoat (GNT)
  • White Frost Tricoat (G1W)

Every option in the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 paint list is available for an extra charge ranging between $495 and $1,095, with the exception of Summit White, which is the exclusive no-cost paint option.

As for the mechanical bits, the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 is available with four different powerplant options, including the 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine (which adopts the TurboMax branding in conjunction with the 2024 model year), the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, and the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine (now equipped as standard on the 2024 GMC Sierra AT4X).

The GM T1 platform provides the bones, with vehicle production taking place at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana and GM Silao plant in Mexico.

  1. Is Sierra Downpour Metallic (GXP) paint still available

  2. GM clearly has no clue as to what bronze is. It’s an orangish gold, NOT a greenish dark brown. Sheesh. After calling the color of my ’04 Malibu Maxx (way back when) “Light Driftwood Metallic”, when it was simply gold, I thought GMs color blindness had passed. Apparently not.

    1. I’ve been looking for a used Sierra 1500 Denali in the Deep Bronze Metallic. Do you know how many were originally available? If you, or anyone else for that matter, has seen one up for sale, please let me know. Personally, I like this “green” variation. Hopefully it is brought back to life. Thank you!

      1. How bad do you want one in that color? I have a 2024 Sierra 1500 AT4 Duramax with a bit over 8,000 miles on it located in Memphis, TN. I could be convinced to sell it if the price was right.

        1. Intrigued, but I am specifically looking for a 1500 Denali Ultimate with the 6.2L in the Deep Bronze Metallic. Thank you though.

  6. What in the world does “built out” mean? Does it mean discontinued? If it does…why not say that?

    1. “Built out” is a term in the auto industry that means that there won’t be any more for this model year.

  7. Why is this news? And why are you so behind on the news? I bought and drove off the lot a 2024 GMC Sierra AT4 on December 12th of 2023 and it is the same color. Did you just find out now that they are makin that color for the 2024 model year?
