Stellantis has unveiled the all-new 2024 Dodge Charger, including the all-electric Dodge Charger Daytona. The battery powered muscle car is motivated by 670 horsepower and all-wheel drive, sending it from 0 to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds. At present, GM does not offer a direct rival, although The General has confirmed development of the next-generation Chevy Camaro, which will likely offer all-electric power.
Under the skin, the next-gen Charger rides on the STLA Large platform. All-wheel drive is equipped as standard. Properly launched, the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack will run down the quarter mile in an estimated 11.5 seconds. Range-per-charge is estimated at 260 miles. There’s also the all-electric 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T, which packs 496 horsepower and offers 317 miles of range.
The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona lineup incorporates a wealth of go-fast features, such as a standard Direct Connection Stage kit for maximum performance off the line, as well as a front “R-Wing” design that enhances downforce. There’s also a standard “PowerShot” that delivers an extra 40 horsepower for 15 seconds.
Daytona models also feature a Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system for muscle car-esque noise, plus Donut Mode, Drift Mode, and two Race Prep driving modes. Further highlights include massive 16-inch Brembo brakes and the largest tire package to date on any production-spec Dodge Charger, with 20-inch wheels and staggered Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar 3 tires sized at 305 in front and 325 in back.
For those that still prefer gasoline to electrons, there will also be two internal-combustion engine options on the table, including the 550-horsepower Dodge Charger SixPack H.O. and 420-horsepower Charger SixPack S.O., both of which feature the twin-turbocharged inline six-cylinder Hurricane ICE.
Production of the all-electric 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack and 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T will kick off in mid-2024, while production of the four-door Daytona Scat Pack and R/T models, plus ICE-powered Six Pack models will begin in Q1 of 2025.

RIP Dodge. Without a V8, these cars aren’t worth it. There are better and cheaper EV options if you want one.
Not everyone wants an EV. The gas version of the Charger will be a lot cheaper
Yes, but how many of the HEMI/Hellcat owners will trade in for a 6 cylinder? I know I’m keeping mine as long as possible now.
If I want a car with character, I will get a Dodge with the V6 engine. If I want an EV devoid of personality and any form of appeal, I will get an appliance from Whirlpool or Maytag.
With the demise of the Camaro, folks are grouping the Corvette in with the Mustang as rivals. But, this Charger is HUGE. WAY bigger than any “personal luxury coupe” I ever owned back in the day, including a mid-90s Monte Carlo. Some think it’s way too big. Don’t know what Stellantis was thinking. UVs on the brain, I guess.
FCA/Stellantis carved a nice market niche with the last Challenger it being larger than the Camaro and Mustang. The Challenger often outsold both the Mustang and Camaro on a monthly basis. Nevertheless, it is a lot nicer than the five passenger coupe gm has.
Gms only answer to this should be a 2 dr Monte Carlo hybrid and a 4 dr impala hybrid but 🤷🏾♂️ let’s see the reliability of this thing first lol

Yes the Ford Mach-E was very odd looking from the start, not sporty,not a station wagon, very cheap looking interior.

I would own a Hurricane-powered Charger in a heartbeat of America. So cool looking… it brings to mind the ’68-’70 Charger, plus with the hatchback and AWD it will be practical. I think this is a good strategy, selling both forms of motivation in the same car. I don’t want an EV, but I can still get the cool looks of this Charger.
Nice choice of mechanicals, but too big and bland, especially the coupe. Maybe Chrysler can put some 300 style on the sedan at least?

Pretty sure this is supposed to supplant the Charger and Challenger. That’s the reason it’s a 2 and 4 door.
This was supposed to be an EV only vehicle. The smartest thing Stellantis could have done was also offer that gasoline engine. They must have had that as a backup plan in case this EV craze was short-lived. While I am disappointed it isn’t a V8, I’d point out that Ferrari was going to get slack for killing V12s and V8s in favor of turbo 6s and they are still revered exotic cars. Not to compare apples with oranges but I think Dodge will be ok.
it’s not so much a back up as this is how Stellantis has planned their platforms for here and now as they can be flexible to handle ICE, hybrid, PHEV and BEV
it honestly might have be the most prudent choice in the industry tbh, a lot of platforms are being designed as EV only and that allows for max battery capacity, but I think factoring in a hesitancy on people wanting to buy an EV it would make more sense to make a platform that covers all their needs, saves costs and allows them to have one of the higher profit margins of any car manufacturer
The straight six ICE variant is sort of a small victory. Here’s the thing: Being as the Hurricane straight six is already twin-turbo-charged , how much more power can they realistically wring out of it? Time will tell, but the V8 has no peers when it comes to yielding more horsepower and torque with modifications.

Typical Gm management giving up on another segment a sports car sedan. They used to compete in this area with Olds 442, Pontiac firebird, Chevy Camaro . Corvette is in an another whole different category. Gm has abandoned sedans, minivans, muscle cars in order to sell pickups, Big SUV’s and electric Vehicles. No wonder why their market share has decreased for decades. They have become a niche automaker for Big SUV’s that are priced in the $100,000 range and EV’s like the Hummer which is well over $100,000! No wonder why the imports have eaten their lunch for decades. They still make money because many of their models are made in countries with low wages and little benefits. Working people raising families can not afford what they build anymore what a shame.
Let’s see how many of these will be stacking up on dealer lots. America is just not going for EV’s right now. Dealers don’t want them. The public doesn’t want them. It will be a big test, to see just how many they sell. And having a straigth six, instead of a small V8, will be a death knoll. With haveing the Hemi’s for such a stretch of time, customers won’t be streaming to dealers to buy these. What the Hell is happening here? Glad I still have my 1969 Chevelle SS 396. Bought it new in April ’69. LOVE It.
Dodge’s whole lineup seems to be falling apart. First they try to replace the Hemi in the TRX with the Hurricane and now this. Also killing the Hemi in the 2025 1500 makes no sense. Wish auto manufacturers would learn that in some applications nothing can really replace a V8. Thats one major reason I would by GM.
Chevrolet could’ve had a rival with the Chevrolet SS. Could’ve beefed that sucker up, too..but NOoooo….
If they can make the twin turbo 6 sound (and perform) like a real muscle car should then maybe they’ve got something…TBD

Is it just me or does the white logo in the center of the grill and on the rear of the car look a lot like Mitsubishi‘s logo, just white?
Logo on the front and back tail lights are revived from 1950-1960’s Dodges (please Google Dodge vehicle logo used over the years).
former GM owner, I knew that, but the younger crowd doesn’t, first glance, it looks like a Mitsubishi emblem, just white, which many of the younger crowd would recognize because of the EVO.
If GM plans to make a car to compete with the Charger Daytona, it should bring it with some historical plate other than Camaro, for example names like Monte Carlo, Impala or even Nova with ICE engines or self-charging hybrids.
But it is clear that they are not going to do it since they prefer to give more priority to their SUVs and their range of electric vehicles.

They should have let the “Charger” die a dignified death in 1972. After than all the real “Muscle Cars” were gone! Chev, Chrysler, Ford ruled the roads and school yards too. Everything after was a joke. Those of us who were teenagers in the mid 60 to early 70’s knew what the real “Muscle Cars” were. The sound of power and performance down the strip. Now it is lawn mower powered cars, electric and all the other imposters. Who cares if an electric car has 1000 hp. It is NOT a REAL Muscle car!
