2024 Corvette Z06 Convertible Stolen Off Showroom Floor In Tennessee: Video

Thieves in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee recently managed to steal three vehicles directly from a GM dealership, including a brand-new 2024 Corvette Z06 Convertible, as well as a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 HD Denali and a 2022 GMC Yukon. The combined value of the vehicles is estimated at more than $300,000, with the Z06 alone estimated to be worth $148,000. So far, the 2022 GMC Yukon is only vehicle of three to be recovered, while the other two vehicles, and the thieves, remain at large.

According to a report from ABC-affiliated local news station WKRN News 2, thieves broke into the GM dealership on the morning of March 1st, 2024, smashing a window in the dealership service lane before acquiring keys and license plates by prying open the lockbox with a crowbar. Security footage shared by WKRN News 2 shows the thieves taking off with the vehicles, even backing the new Torch Red Corvette Z06 out of the showroom. The GMC Sierra 2500HD was stolen off the dealership lot and was valued at more than $80,000.

The Corvette Z06 was later spotted at a local gas station. The Vette was estimated to be carrying only about a gallon of gas on board when it was stolen.

Law enforcement managed to briefly track the cars using OnStar, but the thieves quickly disabled the system. Police estimate that the vehicles may be resold using altered VINs. The Yukon was found in Birmingham, Alabama with a flat tire behind an abandoned house, but the other two vehicles remain unaccounted for.

Earlier this month, GM Authority covered a story about a Carvana customer who unwittingly purchased a stolen 2018 Chevy Camaro ZL1 1LE, only to later discover that his new sports car was fraudulently purchased from a dealership in Texas using a fake ID and fake payment information.

      1. @Jared sorry bro but in this particular case these scum bags should be GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT….they clearly committed the crime of robbery, breaking and entering, as well as property damage to name a few, TNTSierea is right it a CRIMINAL should have no say in the matter until it’s time for courts. And don’t tell me this people are MENTALLY ILL…they where enough in their right mind to steel the three most expensive vehicles and they are smart enough to leave the the flat tire Yukon and continue on their hiding chase. These seem like very smart professional criminals…IMO you do the time you do the crime!

  3. Re: Carvana Camaro aspect of this story: Hopefully the dealer who failed to properly verify the authenticity of the crook who originally “purchased” it is the one out of luck. Technically they did SELL it by signing over the title. It was not “stolen”. And the unfortunate person who eventually bought it on Carvana should not be at fault. If possible their purchase funds should be re-directed to the dealer instead of the crook. With the dealer absorbing any loss of revenue.

  11. I’m appalled for the fact that anything so beautiful can easily be driven out of a showroom. No matter how much it costs to get better safeguards
The Corvette is my Dream car. This looks like a inside job. Give me a break. How can you just drive any vehicle of that caliber to just drive out through glass and no alarms. The Dealer has a lot of explaining to do.
