2024 Chevy Traverse RS In Stardust Metallic: Live Photo Gallery

General Motors unveiled the 2024 Chevy Traverse back in July of 2023, debuting an all-new third generation for the full-size crossover. In total, customers have eight exterior paint options to choose from, but perhaps the most interesting of these is Stardust Metallic. Now, we’re checking out what the 2024 Chevy Traverse looks like in Stardust Metallic paint out in the real world thanks to the following GM Authority Live Photo Gallery.

The 2024 Chevy Traverse RS in Stardust Metallic paint.

This particular model is the sporty RS trim level, and is equipped with a set of 22-inch High Gloss Black painted aluminum wheels – standard spec for the Traverse RS. The Stardust Metallic paint is tagged with paint code GXK and is offered as a no-cost option.

The combination of Stardust Metallic paint and 22-inch High Gloss Black painted aluminum wheels lends the full-size crossover a special, almost custom-appearing aesthetic, with the paint giving off a purplish hue that subtly shifts under different light conditions.

The front end is dominated by a High Gloss Black Sporty Grille, which incorporates intricate detailing and a shiny finish that works well with the rest of the vehicle trim bits. LED headlamps with an automatic on / off feature and walk-up / exit animation are also seen up front, while a discreet RS badge is mounted in the driver’s side corner of the grille. The lower bumper is finished in glossy black as well.

The black trim bits continue into the corners, were we see High Gloss Black roof mounted side rails, High Gloss Black upper door moldings, Black bodyside moldings, and Black rocker moldings. The Traverse badge in the front doors is also finished in black. Notably, the C-pillar incorporates a shark fin-style design.

Finally, looking at the rear end of the crossover, we spot a set of LED tail lights, the housings of which are wrapped into the rear quarter panels and connect in a horizontal styling line across the hatch. The rear bumper is finished in black and houses a quartet of square exhaust pipes.

At the other end of those pipes, you’ll find the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine, rated at 315 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. The 2024 Chevy Traverse rides on the GM C1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.

    2. I want this exact color and model we live in Virginia and I have been to at least 6 dealers they all say it will take 5-6 months to get this if ordered it’s April so that means we wouldn’t get it until November 2024, had a few other dealers say when I asked if they had any NEW 2024 Traverses in are you talking about the updated model well duhhhhhh yeah the 2024 why are these so hard to find

      1. “when I asked if they had any NEW 2024 Traverses in are you talking about the updated model well duhhhhhh”

They only asked, because there is a 24 Traverse limited. It’s not related to the redesigned 24 Traverse. So, maybe they said “duhhhhh” to you because you didn’t know that.

        1. well if we are shopping for a new 2024 because of all of the updates the 24 has why would we want the old model we do currently have a 2019 but waited for the 2024 because of the updates, I just dont get why they are so had to get

          1. Again … The salesperson didn’t know you weren’t interested in the 24 Limited. That’s why he/she asked.
Some people actually prefer the 24 Limited , because they don’t like the looks of the redesigned 24.
At this point, I’m waiting for the 25 Traverse in the Premier trim.

      2. Good Evening, Everyone,

I read even after orders are placed, some may not receive their vehicle until November 2024.

I really think they should shave some of the pricing off this 2024 New Redesigned Model (without taking away or diluting quality and originally announced features of the vehicle). Because the year will be almost over by the time most people get their hands on the vehicle. At best, it will be June or after June, which is not reflective of the high sticker price consumers will be paying and immediate drastic decrease in value compared to competitors with their 2024 line-up already released and on the roads.

    3. Why Does The Color On This Car Looked Lavender But At Chevrolet Online Build And Price The Traverse’s Color Looks Much Darker??

  2. They really knocked it out of the park with the new traverse. I got a chance to check it out at an autoshow and tons of people were gathered around it very impressed. This will sell very well

  3. Ugly vehicle. Uglier color. I would never get rid of my 22 silver metallic Traverse Premier for this. Never!

    1. I like the look, but the shark fin pillar will certainly need to be toned down when it’s due for a mid-life refresh. This vehicle will look a lot better without it.

    2. Wow! 68 Down Votes! I guess a lot of Traverse fan-boys got their little feelings hurt. Like I said, I own a Traverse. I like it and have no issues with it.
Sorry you’re upset because I don’t like the new traverse. Don’t worry … I’ll get over it.

  4. Pretty sharp color. Reminds me of “Medium Purple Pearl Metallic”, offered on 1998 Corvettes, as well as the 4th Gen Camaro for a couple of years. Looks nice with the black accents of the RS trim.

  5. Not a color for me, but am so happy to start seeing color. Seemed like for a decade or more there was black, white & silver with a little red here and there.

  6. FINALLY A PURPLE, I like it! Though I do wish it were a little darker.

    Reply
    1. Agreed, glad to see a purple too though I wish it were darker. Something like the ‘iridium metallic’ on the last gen Sierra and Yukons would’ve been perfect.

  9. I was really excited for the new Traverse. Just came back from NY Auto show and seeing the Traverse in RS trim which is around USD 60k. The exterior looks impressive. But the interior was underwhelming to say the least. Cheap piano black everywhere, such a cheap choice and doesn’t fit the price tag. Everly the red and black accents is piano black and red. It’s a thumbs down for me. Chevy has to start making better interiors.

    1. So your saying all luxury brands are using cheap piano black too. Seems the piano black it used in many luxury vehicles. So its not cheap looking. You may not like it which is fine. I think carbon fiber looks cheap. Its just weaves of carbon, nothing exciting about it but many people like it.

      1. it’s priced too high. Also, no EPA info yet. How are people already placing orders without knowing MPG efficiency information

        Reply
        1. Plenty of people like myself, give no consideration to the MPG. If everything else is what I want, I don’t give a squat about MPG. I consider it just the cost of doing business to get what I want. Sacrificing features to get a better MPG is never something I would consider.

          Reply
          1. That is precisely one of the problems. We value too much fluff over efficiency. That’s why they don’t care to deliver much, or optimally on that.

If a daily driver, and as a family car, MPG does matter.

            Reply
            1. Not at all. Your opinion of “fluff” is different than mine. Saving $25/month in gas isn’t worth giving up being happy with what I’m driving.
You asked who would buy without knowing the MPG. a LOT of people. MPG is one of the least important things about a vehicle for me. If everything else is equal, then I will choose better MPG, but I wont’ sacrifice other things for a few $’s of gas

              Reply
        2. Because they know roughly where it will be, it isn’t like it will be 13 combined. It will be the same or better than the current gen and it isn’t a hybrid, so no point fretting over it. The only people that might make a decision based on mpg is a fleet or service company, otherwise nor people while they do consider mpg won’t matter as they have a solid idea roughly where it will be. Those that want a hybrid won’t care and go with another brand, those that know what they want the 1mpg difference from this to a Explorer or Atlas won’t matter, it is mostly the options, design and power.

        3. MPG isnt important for some people

          Reply
          1. MPG should be important to every family in America. We have a mismanagement, spending, and debt problem.

22 mpg (Combined) or better for a midsize non-luxury daily SUV line-up should be a goal

            Reply
            1. We get it! MPG is very important to you. Now why don’t you understand that it may not as important to everyone else as it is to you. Live and let live.

              Reply
              1. If it’s important to me, it should be important to you Brent. lol, I’m messing with you man. But all jokes aside, do you think the different trims are reasonably priced for what is offered, vs other competitors? Personally, the RS shouldn’t be more than 50-52k in my opinion.

                Reply
    2. The price for that Trim should really be $48k-49k (maybe $50k). The entire line-up is overpriced.

  13. Agree Dinesh, GM needs to buy a Mazda Cx9 or hyundai palisaide with top of their line trim level to use as a benchmark for what a vehicle north of $48k should have as the interior. Hard black or haringbone seats with black and dark grey accents are drab and boring, it’s amazing they sell anything.

  14. Like the colour. Hate the C-pillar fin. Hate the black wheels. Hate the black-out $hite design features. All in all… horrible.

  15. Reminds me of the 1965 color Evening Orchid, and yes gm has some of the most drab and boring interiors

  16. Seriously folks! If this is the best GM has to offer in the new Traverse, then I’m moving on to another manufacturer. I’ll give the 25 Traverse Premier a look-see, but if it’s anything like this garbage … I’m done. Already looking at the new 25 Lincoln Aviator.

    1. You’re expecting Chevy to have an interior that’s competitive with a Lincoln? lol!

Chevy finally comes alive with a different exterior color. Wow!

  18. Almost had me sold until I saw the interior colors(or lack of). I remember when I was working for GM in 2017, a designer I was talking to said that saddle was going to be the new black. Too bad it never happened. Unfortunately it looks like most of the competition is on the same playing field. In the 70’s you could get an interior color the same color as the exterior. We’ll never even get that close again.

  19. That color must be some trick like the dress that some people saw as gold, and some people saw as blue. Looks like either you love the color or hate it. Me? I hate it.
