2024 Cadillac CT5-V Gets New Black Diamond Tricoat Paint: First Look

Four new paint colors were added to the 2024 Cadillac CT5-V sedan’s available lineup, a quartet that includes Cyber Yellow Metallic, Velocity Red, Coastal Blue Metallic, and Black Diamond Tricoat. This is a closer look at the Black Diamond color and its availability.

Black Diamond Tricoat is tagged with color code GLK and touch-up paint number WA-815T, and is one of the nine paint colors that can be chosen for the exterior of the 2024 Cadillac CT5-V, as shown here:

  • Argent Silver Metallic
  • Black Raven
  • Midnight Steel Metallic
  • Radiant Red Tintcoat
  • Summit White
  • Black Diamond Tricoat (new for 2024)
  • Coastal Blue Metallic (new for 2024)
  • Cyber Yellow Metallic (new for 2024)
  • Velocity Red (new for 2024)

Black Diamond Tricoat has very limited availability for the 2024 Cadillac CT5-V. It was first offered on the 2011 CT5-V and has been available on and off on some special-edition Cadillac models since. The Tricoat is priced at an extra $1,995 and can be ordered in conjunction with all 2024 interior colorways.

As a reminder, the available interior colorways for the 2024 Cadillac CT5-V consist of three colors, as listed below:

  • Jet Black with Jet Black accents
  • Whisper Beige with Jet Black accents
  • Sedona Sauvage with Jet Black accents

The starting MSRP GM set for the 2024 Cadillac CT5-V is $52,890 if equipped with rear-wheel drive or $54,890 with all-wheel drive, as we reported earlier as part of the model’s pricing infoCompared to the 2023 CT4-V, the price of the 2024 model year has increased by $500.

One powerplant is offered for the CT5-V, the twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 LGY gasoline engine developing 360 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. Mated to the GM Hydra-Matic 10-speed automatic transmission, this engine can send power to the wheels via either a RWD or AWD powertrain, as noted above.

The CT5-V gets performance and power upgrades that positions it above the standard Cadillac CT5 as a sporty V-series model. At the same time, it slots in below the track-ready and higher performance Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing.

The Cadillac CT5-V rides on the GM Alpha 2 platform. Production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan. The Cadillac website currently hosts the official configurator tool, enabling potential buyers to spec various combinations of colors and features for the CT5-V.

  1. The car costs enough, I would never pay an extra $2,000 for paint. Love the car though but base engine needs to grow, Maybe the 2.5 L. Or the 3.6 that gm is trying to get rid of.

  3. We have Black Diamond on our 2013 Regal. It cost $1,000 extra but was worth every penny over the years. My wife loves it and always remarks how it sparkles in the sun.
