Per previous GM Authority coverage back in June 2023, the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 was unable to be ordered with a select 22-inch wheel option. Now, GM Authority has learned that this 22-inch roller has made its return for the certain Sierra 1500 models.
The LPO, 22-inch Bright Chrome multi-spoke wheels (RPO code SSW) are once again available to be ordered on the 2024 Sierra 1500. Specifically, these wheels are offered as a $3,695 option on the SLT and Denali trim levels only.
It’s worth noting that LPO refers to options and features that are installed on-site by the dealerships. In this case, the trucks are shipped with steel transit wheels, which are then sent back to the factory by the dealer after the latter installed the optional set of wheels.
As a reminder, the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 received a number of notable updates for the new model year, including the availability of the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine on the off-road-focused AT4X trim, the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine adopting the TurboMax name, the expansion of an active exhaust system throughout the lineup, and new set of power-retractable assist steps, among other items.
Under the hood, the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 is available with no shortage of engine options, including the previously mentioned turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B TurboMax gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, rated at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and the aforementioned 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine, rated at 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.
In regard to structure, the Sierra 1500 rides on the GM T1 platform, which it shares with the Chevy Silverado 1500. Meanwhile, production of the 2024 Sierra kicked off in July 2023 at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana and GM Silao plant in Mexico.

Nice wheel!
Why would you want a 22inch wheel on a standard ride height.? Maybe on a lifted.
But 22 inch will require a low profile tire .
Less rubber means harder ride . Very little wheel well clearance as is. I would not be interested at that price. The 20 inch are fine on my 2022 Sierra.
Terrible choice for a wheel size on a ‘truck’.
I notice everytime I rate a comment the thumbs up or down reset to ” 0 ” Is it just me or do any other s notice this. ???
I rated the 22 inch wheel as a bad choice for a standard non lifted TRUCK and I stick by my choice . $4 k is a lot for 22 inch hard ride low profile tire. Plus the choice of tires is lmited . Enjoy if thats what you like.
Same
Go larger. I’m a big fan of Conestoga wagons.
