General Motors has released a service update for certain units of the 2024 Chevy Traverse Limited due to missing badges.
According to Service Update N242436160, select units of the 2024 Traverse Limited may have been shipped without a “Limited” badge. As such, certified GM technicians have been instructed to inspect affected vehicles and install the badge themselves on the three-row crossover’s liftgate.
It’s worth noting that it should take GM techs roughly 30 minutes to complete this service update. In addition, General Motors has enacted a stop-delivery order on Traverse Limited examples.
As a reminder, the 2024 Chevy Traverse Limited serves as a stop-gap measure in the transition to the third-generation 2024 Chevy Traverse. As such, the Limited model is largely a carryover from the 2023 model year, and was likely a result of the 2023 UAW labor strikes. More specifically, these strikes caused the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan – where the Chevy Traverse is produced – to temporarily halt production from September 29th, 2023 to October 30th, 2023.
Interestingly, General Motors has implemented a similar strategy before with the Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 pickups. In fact, both trucks were offered as Limited models prior to the launch of their mid-cycle refresh for the 2022 model year.
Under the hood, the Traverse Limited is powered by the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LFY gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, while output is routed to the ground via the GM nine-speed automatic transmission.
In regard to structure, the Traverse rides on the long-wheelbase variant of the GM C1 platform, while production ended in January 2024 at the aforementioned GM Lansing Delta Township facility in Michigan.
As for the next-gen model, the 2024 Traverse is highlighted by a fresh exterior design, overhauled cabin space, all-new drivetrain, and a bevy of safety features.

With all the cars slated to release this year, I’m sure a badge should be the least of the worries.
