Some 2022-2023 Buick Envision Crossovers Need A Roof Console Replacement

General Motors has released a Customer Satisfaction Program for select units of the Buick Envision over an issue related to the roof console.

Tagged with CSP Number N222383490, certain examples of the 2022 Envision and 2023 Envision may have a condition where the Overhead Console experiences a loss of software communication. If this were to occur, the overhead lights may become inoperative or may incorrectly cause a “Service Safety Restraint System” message to display, along with a chime.

To remedy this, certified GM technicians are to replace the roof console. Notably, it should take techs less than 30 minutes to complete this fix.

As a reminder, the 2023 Buick Envision is powered exclusively by the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Output is directed to the front wheels as standard via the GM nine-speed automatic transmission, with AWD on offer as an option.

Under the skin, the Tri-Shield brand crossover rides on the GM E2 platform, while production takes place solely at the GM Jinqiao plant in Shanghai, China.

Starting with the exterior, a revised front fascia features a new grille and dual-tier headlamps, while the fresh rear fascia now boasts a new bumper and revised taillamps.

Moving to the inside, the cabin has been overhauled to feature an updated gauge cluster, larger center display, new infotainment features, and reworked center stack.

As far as powertrain specifications are concerned, the existing drivetrain will carry over into the new model year. Meanwhile, production of the 2024 Envision is currently expected to kick off at the Jinqiao facility in early 2024.

  1. I had this issue at 480 miles, but it was caused by 3 loose ground wires tied to the front strut area!
