Almost two months after the official launch of the refreshed Cadillac CT5 in China, SAIC-GM has just announced that pricing for Cadillac‘s midsize sedan will drop noticeably in the Asian country.
General Motors’ main joint venture in China announced a major adjustment to the starting price of the refreshed 2024 Cadillac CT5 in the highly competitive Chinese market, which represents the largest sales volume center for both Cadillac and the CT5 worldwide. As such, the refreshed domestically manufactured luxury sedan gets a significant price drop for more aggressive positioning against the fierce local competition.
The refreshed 2024 Cadillac CT5’s base Luxury trim in China starts at a price of 219,700 yuan or $30,530 USD at the current exchange rate. This represents a substantial adjustment of 70,000 yuan or almost $10,000 USD less compared to the 289,700 yuan ($40,250 USD) entry price for the updated 2024 CT5 when it launched in late December.
SAIC-GM announced that the price reduction for the refreshed 2024 Cadillac CT5 applies specifically to the entry-level Luxury trim level, while pricing for the rest of the vehicle’s lineup will remain as is – at least for now. In addition to the Luxury variant, the 2024 CT5 range in China is made up of three other versions called Luxury Pro, Sport and Platinum that which tops out at 341,700 yuan ($47,470 USD).
Notably, the price decrease for the 2024 Cadillac CT5 Luxury places this version of the midsize sedan in the same ballpark as the Cadillac CT4 and the compact-sized Cadillac GT4 crossover as the brand’s most affordable vehicles in the country. At the moment, it is unclear whether these vehicles will also receive a positioning adjustment as a result of the current intense price war of manufacturers in China.
The refreshed 2024 Cadillac CT5 Luxury with a noticeably lower entry price is now available for sale in the brand’s official dealer network in China, manufactured at the SAIC-GM Cadillac Jinqiao plant and maintaining exactly the same equipment list as when the sedan launched late last year. This price adjustment can undoubtedly further strengthen the CT5’s position as Cadillac’s best-selling model in the world’s largest automotive market.

Bring it over here for $30,000 I’ll bite.
wasn’t sure about the new styling at first, but it really has grown on me
No discounts of any kind on the V Series. No special financing deals either. Thanks, GM for getting me all excited for nothing over China sales. OK I get it. I’m a well-healed American who wants to build a V of my choice. Pony up U$ citizen$. (insert small print here, void where probhibited, must purchase before Feb 29 on current dealer inventory.) LOL
Just so everyone knows the CT5 overseas only comes with the 2.0T. They don’t have the option for a V6 or let alone a V8. I see a lot of people trying to compare to pricing on the V series when it shouldn’t be happening at all. The only engine that you should be comparing price wise is the 2.0t
