A mid-cycle refresh for the 2025 Aston Martin Vantage was recently unveiled, debuting minor exterior changes, an overhauled cabin, and a more powerful V8 engine. Under the hood, the new Vantage now doles out an impressive 656 horsepower. Nevertheless, that figure is still below the 670-horsepower rating attached to the mid-engine C8 Corvette Z06.
In terms of styling, there are small changes outside, including a revised bumper and new fenders. LED lighting is standard, and there’s a larger front grille for better cooling. A set of 21-inch wheels are included as standard, while the body was widened by 1.2 inches. The quad exhaust pipes are slightly larger as well.
More substantial changes are found in the cabin, including an overhauled center console and a new 10.25-inch touchscreen. The instrument display is also new. Meanwhile, the C8 Corvette Z06 incorporates an 8.0-inch touchscreen, although that could change with the forthcoming 2025 model-year refresh.
As for what’s lurking under the extended hood line, the 2025 Aston Martin Vantage cradles a refreshed twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 engine sourced from Mercedes-AMG. The powerplant was upgraded with bigger turbochargers, new cams, an optimized compression ratio, and improved cooling, yielding a peak figure of 656 horsepower, which is 155 horsepower more than the pre-refresh model. Torque is up as well, peaking at 590 pound-feet, 85 pound-feet more than before. A ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission handles the cog swaps. A V12 engine is no longer offered.
By comparison, the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 in the C8 Corvette Z06 is rated at a maximum of 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, all of which is sent to the rear wheels though a Tremec-sourced dual-clutch eight-speed automatic.
The new Vantage was also stiffened, while the handling was made sharper. Sixty mph arrives in an estimated 3.4 seconds, while top speed is claimed to be 202 mph. Compare that to 2.6 seconds to 60 mph in the Z06 and a top speed of 195 mph in base form, or 188 mph with the aero-heavy Z07 Performance Package equipped.
Deliveries for the 2025 Aston Martin Vantage are expected to kick off in Q2 of the 2024 calendar year, with pricing expected to be between $190,000 and $200,000. The C8 Corvette Z06 starts at $111,795, although finding one at MSRP may still be tricky.

Yeah and if money wasn’t a factor I’d take that Aston Martin over a Z06 anyday.
Interesting article, but this supposedly new Aston Martin is only a 2-door sedan and therefore not a competitor to a super sports car like the Corvette C8 ZO6!
The sensible opponent OEM is Cadillac if this Cadillac brand had a coupe and then used the real Blackwing 4.2L Bi-Turbo engine with the transaxle transmission from the Corvette C8! But GM only builds trucks!! Unfortunately!
If you leave the Sedan and Wagon market you also lose CUSTOMERS to the competitor OEMs!
Name the new BMW M5 Wagon that will come to the USA with MY2025.
GM is then clearly a boring OEM!!!!
Unfortunately!!!
By the way:
Did YOU know that in Europe the Corvette C8 is twice as expensive as in the USA? So they say it’s pretty cool! So the price of a GM vehicle is not a handicap since it is usually just a basis for the leasing rate…
The new aston is just a 2 seater coupe. It does not have back seats. They are very similar in HP and I doubt aston is being realistic on time numbers. 128 more hp for only a .1 second off 0-60? Doubt it. It has only 14 hp less with a bunch more torque than the vette. Either way id rather roll up in an elegant aston than a sporty chevy anyday.
I would have to cash a Bond…. a Savings Bond….
Still looks like a large mouth bass.
I recently sold my Aston and looking to replace it. I was considering replacing it with a Corvette. As I mentioned multiple times on this site I was on the wait list with a deposit for over 2.5 years with no order date in site for a Z06. I decided to cancel and get my deposit back. 6 months ago I put a deposit down with a different dealer on an E-Ray. They told me I was 92 on the list and most likely will not be able to place an order until 2025 then 4-6 months until delivery. I configured the E-Ray loaded and it came in at $156K. That all said, when I received the info on the new Vantage I went onsite and configured a fully loaded and it came in at $198K. The dealer called me said I can place place an order today and should receive it in less than 6 months. I have owned two Astons but never a Corvette. I was excited to try the Z06 and now the E-Ray but waiting 3-4 years to get a vehicle is not acceptable. I am in no rush, but I still haven’t decided what I am going to purchase to replace my Aston. I most likely will make that decision in the next 3 months. Still keeping my fingers crossed on getting a Corvette.
