As part of the comprehensive expansion of its business in the region, General Motors is launching OnStar Connected Services in more countries in the Middle East.
The American automaker recently launched OnStar Connected Services in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, becoming two new markets for GM’s telematics business in the Middle East. As such, both Southwest Asian kingdoms join Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the four countries in the region where GM’s OnStar technology is currently available.
“Introducing OnStar to the Kingdom of Bahrain is the next step in our efforts to elevate connectivity, safety and an elevated driving experience in the region,” said Managing Director for OnStar at GM Africa and Middle East, Luis De La Cruz. “Following the recent launch in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia alongside Kuwait and the UAE, we are continuing to expand the Middle East’s access to connected mobility, in line with our vision for a world of Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions and Zero Congestion,” he added.
The launch of OnStar Connected Services in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain is part of GM’s strategy to advance the future of mobility in Middle East countries, which are experiencing widespread digitalization as part of the shared Vision 2030 plan to modernize transportation and communication services in the region. In fact, OnStar’s debut is the result of collaboration with various government entities of those nations.
In particular, the expansion of OnStar Connected Services represents a notable leap towards the connected future of mobility in the Middle East and a step forward in the automaker’s global corporate vision. GM’s innovative connectivity and safety technology offers a wide range of subscription-based in-vehicle convenience, entertainment and safety services that significantly enhance drivers’ travel experience.
OnStar Connected Services will be available on the wide range of Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac vehicles offered in Middle East countries, which have a regional contact center ready to serve customers 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, made up of specialized advisors offering support in both English and Arabic. OnStar plans available in the region are specified on the OnStar Arabia website.
