GM Authority has obtained photos of the all-new 2025 Buick Enclave in the flesh with no camouflage. It unsurprisingly wears the new corporate face of Buick that we’ve seen permeate throughout the brand’s smaller crossovers like the Envision, Encore GX, and Envista. The flagship Enclave is the last Buick model to adopt the new design language.
The body of the new Enclave is decidedly boxier than the soft, flowing curves of the outgoing model. It gives the Buick Enclave a closer family resemblance to the Chevy Traverse, GMC Acadia, and smaller Cadillac XT6. Another interesting touch is the spoiler integrated into the middle of the liftgate, which should help with aerodynamics and make minor improvements to efficiency and cabin noise.
Previous reports elsewhere on the web, based on camouflaged photos of the 2025 Buick Enclave, claimed that it would shrink to the size of the Cadillac XT6. However, these new photos confirm that it will remain on the long-wheelbase version of the C1 platform, which will continue to make it one of the roomiest crossovers in its class.
The relatively small wheels on this test mule tell us that this is most likely the Preferred trim. As per the Y trim level strategy that’s been making its way through Buick and GM at large, Preferred will be the base trim, while the sport-styled Sport Touring (ST) and luxurious Avenir trims will be slotted above it.
Judging by some of the updates we’ve seen in the officially unveiled, all-new 2024 Chevy Traverse and 2024 GMC Acadia, we can make a few predictions about what to expect in the 2025 Buick Enclave. One big update we’re expecting is the availability of the Super Cruise hands-free driving system. Another safe bet is an Avenir trim comparable to the GMC Acadia Denali, which has luxurious features like a unique appearance package with available 22-inch wheels, an 8-inch head-up display, leather seating for the first two rows, and power-folding third-row seats.
Power for the all-new 2025 Buick Enclave will come from the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 engine mated to the GM 8-speed automatic transmission. Under the hood of the new Acadia and Traverse, this engine develops 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. We expect the same specs for the Buick. Naturally, front-wheel drive will be standard, and all-wheel drive will be optional.
In spy shots of the new Enclave’s interior, we saw a widescreen display housing the infotainment screen and digital gauge cluster similar to those found in the Cadillac Lyriq. We were also grateful to see tactile climate control switches placed in a nice horizontal arrangement in the center stack.
Keep an eye out for an official unveiling of the 2025 Buick Enclave in the coming weeks, with availability following shortly after that.

Boring
Same look as the rest of the Buick line. Generic, nothing that says “Buick”, and – to me – it just looks cheap.
That’s absolutely awful. Buicks new design language is so bad!!
The front fascia is just disgusting, doesn’t remind of any Buick. I remember. All GM’s new designs look exactly the same from side and rear, with exceptions of taillights and there front fascia’s. They just don’t know what styling is anymore and could really care less what their customers think!
This. This is the face of what happens when you hand over the design reigns of an iconic American automobile brand to soulless communist Chinese “designers”. I have a vintage hat sitting on my desk that proudly features the trishield on the front with big bold serifed font that reads: “ B U I C K – Premium American Motorcars”….
agreed – nothing special. quite disappointing. not pretty.
Yep, it’s the LED Headlight design that makes it look bland especially.
Looks like a Traverse with a Toyota grill, which is a fail for Buick.
I found the side view of the front end looking very Toyota-ish. So, it’s not just you.
Back to everything the same. Thanks Mary….that’s cutting edge. Nnnnnnnnnnnooooooooootttttttt!!!!!!
If you leave the A pillar back unchanged, it looks good, but that front end will likely result in a MCE in a year and a half.
They managed to create an overall more generic looking vehicle despite the more creative front end. Although I know it’s not, it looks like the current-gen Traverse with a new front end, a lazy 90’s-era GM badge engineering job.
Badge-engineering until you sit and drive them. I sell for the brands. Enclave is a significant upgrade from the traverse (I like both vehicles personally). just depends on the preferences of the buyer.
That looks almost identical to the sketch they released last month……NOOOOOOOT Lol
That is a boring Blob. Why would anyone choose that over a Traverse or Acadia?
The Enclave was always the most daring design wise. Wow
I will however wait to see it in High Res Pics and or in person for final judgement
The official “rental car” of the year.
Back to everything the same. Thanks Mary….that’s cutting edge. Nnnnnnnnnnnooooooooootttttttt!!!!!!
all these friggin suv look alike, must take a lot to be a “designer” now…..2 boxes; one small one, one big one, attached…get some real cars…not this fwd crap
I really like the front and rear ends. But the sides have no shape to them at all, no body lines or sculpting. If I didn’t know this was going to be a Buick it could be literally any brand’s three row SUV. The previous gen was at least distinctive.
Well it doesn’t have the shark fin you were all crabbing about!
The new Traverse/Acadia/Enclave are nice but too large. Would have liked to see a Traverse-XL/Acadia-XL/Enclave-XL of this size, then something a little smaller to slot in between the Equinox/Terrain/Envision and these behemoths.
Chevy has the Blazer and Cadillac the XT5 that are both mid-sizers on this platform. I imagine either or both GMC and Buick will have a mid-sizer on this platform to come as well.
The Blazer and XT5 are getting discontinued.
The Blazer was just supposed to switch powertrains to electric, now it sounds like it will share an EV and ICE powertrain like the equinox. The XT5 as well will probably be both ICE and EV, even though Cadillac is really pushing towards an all EV brand.
https://gmauthority.com/blog/2023/11/gm-considering-second-gen-cadillac-xt5-for-north-america/
This can’t be a finished product why would the encore front end in person look better and have that stupid lower grill that makes no sense? Also the black plastic doesn’t go around the front, the rear end window looks like a previous generation traverse…this can’t be it this why I hate spy shots let’s just wait and see and by the way I am not a fan of overly busy 2024 front end either.
I cannot put my finger on it, but all the proportions seem way off. I was looking forward to the new Enclave. I am personally disappointed with the new boring look, I also feel the Acadia seems off as well.
It looks like the old model with a new front end they said all new so it’s keeping basically the same back end, the side view is more concave then my wife’s almost flat 2019, I don’t know how much different can you make these SUVs? It’s like the GM sedans in the 90s all the same basic shape with different grills, lights, and Minor trim…the more things change the more they stay the same. BTW I saw an new Buick encore and I fell in love with new front end pictures really don’t do it justice in person it’s much better and wider looking.
It’s not just you.. the front looks too short in length and too tall. The new front end looks like a copy of the other new models, and it doesn’t quite work here.
The new “exceptional by design” ad just makes this even more of a disappointment.
Yup. From the profile…. Everything before the a-pillar is too narrow / thin when compared to the bulk / thickness from the b-pillar back. C-Pillar area comes-off way too hefty and bloated. (Like the GMC Envoy’s of the 1990’s that had that rear tailgate sunroof extension so you could haul something tall upright.)
Given that the origianl was a barometer, so is this one. The original predicted good weather. This is pointing to sh#$ty weather. What a letdown.
Will look much better in the top trim. Base trim always has some muted styling.
This is thing is ugly. The c? d? Pillar, looks bad. (Near rear windshield. The front end Design language isn’t bad, however the headlight and grill design language looks as if they were designed for something smaller and shoe horned onto this vehicle after another idea was scrapped. Whiler it’s not easy to make a Crossover interesting, you can make them look good (Atlas Cross Sport, CX-50, Jag F-Pace, Prologue for ex.) I don’t think this boosts Buick sales at all in the USA.
I agree. Wish they would have spent a little more money to actually reshape the D pillar instead of the styling trickery.
OK, enough. ATTENTION ALL CAR DESIGNERS – Stop it 🛑 Stop with the big ugly ass grilles. Just stop. You have made plenty of advances in engine compartment cooling. You do not need a grille that goes from the front edge of the hood all the way to the pavement. Add some design, add some flair, add a front end that I can park over a tire stop in a parking lot without scraping the crap out of the front end. So many new cars, trucks and SUVs have these huge ugly 2 to 3 foot tall grilles that are just ugly and add NO style and NO additonal needed cooling. PLEASE. JUST STOP.
It’s just the industry chasing itself to ridiculous proportions. Again.
Just as it once was tail fins and chrome, today it’s man-eating grilles on the outside and touch screen dashes taking over the inside.
At least GM didn’t put a 3-foot diameter Buick logo on the grille… unless that’s saved for the midlife refresh.
Yikes. How is it the Buick is now the WORST of the three siblings?
Huge disappointment after the Traverse and Acadia.
This looks like a refresh more than an all new model
I think it looks fine, more modern.
I understand that it’s more powerful and has updated interior elements.
I’d really like to see it in Avenir trim in either Moonstone Gray Metallic or White Frost Tricoat.
For me, the Acadia looks the best out of the 3. At least this Enclave looks better than the current one. I wish they would make a 2 row version. I think the proportions would be better.
After seeing the really nice redesigns of the Traverse and Acadia, this is a disappointment, but it is what I expected. They put an Envista front clip on the Enclave and called it a day. Maybe it will look better in Avenir trim, but this is not a radical redesign like the Traverse or Acadia…this looks like a mild refresh rather than an all-new model.
The Traverse and Acadia are MUCH better-looking. I’m not a fan of the front end nor the D-pillar execution.
You are so right. They sort of ruined it.
No, they definitely ruined it.
Umm its not bad but not what I was expecting. I was hoping for something a bit more striking looking or more similar to the Electra E5 or a larger refreshed Envision in looks. The black body cladding also doesn’t go well with the Buick styling language and makes it look more like a rebadged Traverse and Acadia rather than any attempt made to distinguish it from the other two platform siblings. I hope this is just a late test mule and not the final model. Not gonna lie. I am a bit disappointed. This is a model with much going for it considering Acuras MDX is still lacking 3rd row space and Lexus never made a decent 3rd row crossover (until recently with the TX) and now Mazda is in the premium 3rd row field with the CX-90.
Looks like a truck with a botched nose job. Buicks are supposed to be beautiful, not hideous looking and soulless transformer-like transportation appliances. Harley Earl is spinning in his grave (as will be Buick eventually if someone with respect for history, design, sensible engineering, and the customer doesn’t soon take charge of GM). This new Enclave is just plain gawd awful. 😞
Good Lord, that’s awful.
So basically a Toyota Highlander. Hopefully the interior will be something along the line of the Hyundai Palisade Caligraphy and not the typical GM black plastic with hard small seats. For $48k plus on base and $58k plus on higher trim you would think that they could deliver comfortable interior seating and nicer looking trim.
They should have developed a new XT6 instead of putting it out there. The new Enclave looks the ugliest of the GM C1 platform brothers…
This is what happens when a Envision has sex with a Sienna
Oh, hell no! The first Enclave made a bold statement. It stood out from the rest of the crowd. Our family has owned three over the years, including the newest version, and they’ve all been wonderful vehicles. Buick’s must always be beautiful and elegant designs. No automaker should ever borrow any design language from Toyota. If this is truly is the new
Enclave, sales are going to plummet.
So ugly. As a 4 time Enclave owner, I’ll need a new vehicle. That is cheap looking.
Have all the good designers at GM retired or taken a buyout?
Definitely a step back. The only Buick I would consider buying they f’d up. The last one had elegance. This one looks chopped up. Thank goodness Landing Delta Township is getting the Acadia to build. Sales will tank on this one.
Maybe gm did the same thing as Disney? Forced out experienced people and hired kids off Tumblr?
Oh, hell no! Buick stands for bold, beautiful, and elegant design. This monstrosity checks none of the boxes. Our family has owned three Enclaves over the years and have loved every one of them. No automaker should ever take design cues from Toyota. If this truly is the new Enclave, the designers must be fired immediately because sales are going to plummet.
That’s a bunch of Chinese BS right there. They better plan on putting these things right on a boat to the PRC — because they’re not selling any here in the States.
This is an unmitigated disaster.
Front end doesn’t really seem to mesh well with the rest of the vehicle. I understand going in a new direction, but I don’t understand totally abandoning signature styling cues…..I’m thinking the smooth sweeps-spear and elegant venti-ports or port on the current model. Those are two styling elements that look really good and distinguish Buick from other vehicles. This new model looks like it could be from any manufacturer at first glance. While disappointed as most here, I’m still curious to see this up close in Avenir trim. I know one thing, the interior better be knockout cause the exterior doesn’t appear to be.
The front end is generic and boring. I’d say that meshes pretty good with the generic and boring side profile.
Bad looking flat black trim (ala Chevy) on a Buick?? Most of us renember the 2008 Enclave …it was the first SUV to bring super style to the segment, won awards at new car shows, and now it has degraded into this mess.
The 2008 Enclave had grey plastic cladding as well. GM using it on the 2025 isn’t a new idea…
What a disappointment.
What’s the black cladding?
Where are the chrome vents on the side that harken back to traditional ventiports?
The current envision is probably gonna go down as the best looking envision ever. This is just a 3 row Envista literally … nothing looks different
Buick recently had a unique and pleasant style. Gone. This appears a case against quiet quitting. Resorting to overstressed mini motors, same one behind all four badges, is also lazy cost-cutting. I see no reason to buy GM ever again.
I prefer a V8-powered Buick. I’ll keep my 1975 Riviera with 63,435 miles.
I like the look of the new Buicks, but it doesn’t seem to carry over into the larger vehicle. Looks nice on the smaller ones though. On this it looks fugly. They need a way to beef it up, take away the sh!t eating Toyota grill they copied, and don’t slope the hood so much. It really looks like they grafted on the Envista front end onto it without even changing the proportions.
I’ve had my 2018 since 2018, always get compliments, interesting styling almost art deco looking. Thought I would go ahead and get the next gen but with this, that isn’t happening. The whole D pillar area looks awful and the front end looks like a base model, it’s not daring at all. Also why is there plain plastic around the wheel well? None of the prev gen enclaves had that
No thanks! I’ll keep my ’22 Enclave with the 3.6L V6
Sadly, they took the well-proportioned curviness out of the Enclave, which had made it distinctive and stylish. This is a lazy styling exercise of slapping on the supposedly Wildcat-esque grill (which is NOT really attractive, IMHO). Disappointed.
Are we celebrating April Fools early? This is pitiful. And I’ve owned 2 Enclaves. Not this one.
Tis an early April fools joke? Please tell us it is because this thing is a mess and a very lazy effort from GM. And to thing there top of the line 50-60K entry is now a thrashy 4 cylinder only just makes it even worse!
Joe Yoman I don’t think it’s ready to be shown to the public yet otherwise Buick would have shown it off.
This is ugly compared to the current model. Not impressed with the visuals at all.
Seriously? This looks terrible. One of the reasons I bought our ’23 Enclave was because of the flowing lines, it doesn’t look like all of the other generic boxes out there. If I wanted a Traverse I would buy one. The proportions look off, especially around the wheel wells. Between this and GM’s position on Android Auto and CarPlay, it’s becoming really difficult to remain a GM customer. I currently have 2 GM cars, but it’s looking more and more that they will be replaced by another brand. How many shares do I need to buy so I can get a seat on the board and reitre the Mary Barra experiment?
That thing is HIDEOUS! My mother’s 2018 Enclave is elegant looking! She absolutely love it as well. Been a good vehicle for her. She is ready to upgrade but there is no way she will approve this ugly thing. Looks like a Traverse is in the cards now.
This should bode well for the remaining 2024’s that dealers have in stock today. With such a mutual hatred of this upcoming Enclave they should sell the hell out of the outgoing model. Thanks GMA for dropping this bomb early to help boost sales for the remainder of this month, and heading into Buick March Madness as well.
This looks like its already been on the market for 5 years……dull, boring.
What a hideous direction buick styling has taken.
To me, the worst part of the redesign is the turbo 4 cylinder engine replacing the V-6. So much for towing anything anymore!
The turbo 4 will have more torque than the current 6. I’m not a fan of turbo 4’s either, but the facts are the facts.
After a nights sleep, I’m a bit more optimistic about the new Enclave. We’re obviously looking at a base model here and let’s be honest, base models almost always look terrible. Example, I just looked at a new Traverse LS online, and it looks extremely pedestrian compared to the RS trim. Just think for a minute you never saw the 24′ Traverse and the first example you did see was an LS trim. You’d be cursing Chevy much the same way we’re doing Buick here, but the reality is it’s a nice looking vehicle in the right trim.
Same with the current Enclave, the Avenir looks great while the Essence and Preferred IMO don’t…..I think the mesh grill of the Avenir makes it look like a totally different vehicle, something about those horizontal slates looks cheap to me. So yeah, I have some hope the new ‘Clave won’t be the utter disappointment we think it is at the moment.
Funny the RS model looks like the cheaper entry to me with it’s low rent black plastic which will flake off in a few years and look like garbage and positively low rent wheels. This Buick looks equally low rent with the black plastic all along the bottom and around the wheel wells and those dull grey boring wheels.
Completely ugly ! Looks like every other Japanese or Korean Suv on the road. No American design pride. Let’s just fall in line.
As so often with GM, a BIG step in the wrong direction. Theres’s nothing wrong with “boxey” but this is just horrible…
The GM Design Staff and GM Leadership should listen to the customers with the most thumbs-up comments here. This tells them something. I understand cost savings, but distinctive Buick styling is so important. That, along with easy-to-use technology (without reading 400 pages in a manual or going to the dealership for explanation), luxurious interiors and additional exterior and interior colors, will sell cars. And please do not continue to charge customers extra for simple white and red colors. That in itself is insulting.
“Styling” is a different than “Design”. 😉
Wow, what a disappointment. The Enclave is/was always very elegant looking, but this is just generic and unappealing. Easily the least attractive of the three platform mates. I’m at a loss as to why anybody would choose to buy this over the new Acadia. If this is what they’re going to make, I’m not sure that Buick even needs to exist anymore, and I say that as someone that loved the three Buicks I’ve owned.
Ick. Hardly in keeping with the recent Buick styling.
The Traverse does have a nicer look. This has a generic look and nothing that says “Buick” which is normally classy and just below a Cadillac. I don’t think even a great interior will save this one because of the mediocre look of the exterior.
One word: UGLY!
I totally agree with – Boring.
Oh, no. Really? You take a good-looking, curvaceous SUV and turn it into a great big Amazon box? How uncouth. And ugly. If this was April 1, I would have a great big laugh. Is it a joke? I mean, really. Was the design aided by Lada group?
Congratulations Buick on ruining yet another vehicle. Must be the global style now. It’s hideous and looks VERY cheap. Kinda phoned this one in.
Come-on people!
This was 100% cost driven.
Nothing “exceptional” about it.
Took a beautifull looking vehicle and made it ugly, typical GM management thinking.
Meet the Buick Hondalander
Man this thing is so underwhelming. Uninspired body lines and just overall boring compared to the last model. They’re definitely trying to differentiate the base model from the Avenir with all that black plastic. Yikes.
I agree with everybody on the hideous design language. This is morphing into a sibling of the Traverse but the Chevy looks better proportioned. They took the nice lines of the sides and made them very plain and uninspired. The squared off rear window treatment destroys any swoopiness that used to exist there. The front end would have been OK if they had used a similar grille from the Envista but this looks unfinished and regressive. I can only hope that these pictures are an early April Fool’s day joke!! I would not buy it as it is
Glad we have my wife’s 2019 Enclave. 5 years old and still looks more elegant and updated than this piece of garbage.
If I didn’t know any better, I would have thought this was a Toyota Highlander.
Wow thats so bland, terrible.
Side profile and belt line look like previous generation Pilot. Even the wheel design looks like base trim level on the old Pilot.
I came back to read the comments. Most are unfavorable and to which I agree. What was Buick thinking? I count eight, unrelated, horizontal lines across the rear of the car (counting the stored wiper blade). This is the epitome of Buick stylists? I’m currently in my third Enclave. Pretty sure I won’t own a fourth. What a disappointment
My issue is this design language works for the sub 30k envista. It doesn’t translate well to a vehicle at this price point.
You are correct! I see hints of the Envista but it is more boxy and lacks the smooth, clean lines. They should be able to round the front end more since this will be like the Traverse and Acadia and only offer a 2.5L 4-cylinder.
Don’t agree with the mostly non-buyers of this vehicle commenting, don’t think you’d by a fwd CUV for looks (look at my”sexy” family CUV). Although the rear does look a bit plain, also this probably the base model, I’ll reserve opinions until it’s revealed..
Been reassessing. Maybe this is an early test mule, the finished version to be a nice surprise. The all in every model turbo concept still troubles me, ref the 1.4, but that was an Opel design not intended for turbo. My 1.8 na of the same family is stellar at 100k. Hopefully this 2.5 is a better engine, though still small for this size of vehicle. GM cannot afford another disaster.
Keep coming back to read the comments. A very appropriate HELL NO seems to be the general response lol
I waited all this time after seeing restyled Chevy and GMC to get this lame redo, smh. I really thought I was going see something I wanted.
Yeah the new Traverse is a knockout. Wonder what happened here?
Looks like the 23 traverse with new buick grill. Why would the do away with the hips on the side, smh.
That is a disappointing looking vehicle, especially if you currently own one of the stylish first gen Enclaves.
It could literally be any Kia, Ford, or Hyundai on the road. It looks like a generic NPC car.
I am sure the interior is much better. At least I hope it is.
Wow, that’s a LOT more plain than the current one.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the new Buick front end is hideous.
Let me guess, it was designed in China.
This is a GIANT step backwards for the Enclave.
The new look is ok I could grow to like it but I can’t get passed the fact that it’s a 4cyl. turbo and 8spd trans instead of 9 spd. I just think they went backwards made a better overall vehicle but now down ro a 4cyl from a V6 a d 8spd transmission to a 9 spd
Hideous and lumpy! Is GM trying to kill Buick? “Pure” design language sucks, and this Enclave looks ridiculous.
Buick was moving in a good direction with second gen Envision and China only GEM Encore. Now, it’s ugly and stale
Take the existing Enclave, install, the new Buick logo on the front of the hood, open up the grille a bit, add some crossbars, and call it a day.
hire designers
hire designers. this is not a duplicate post. it is my first post
I have owned four Buick Enclaves. This is the most “unimagined” body update of any upcoming vehicle I have ever seen. No style updates, no “wow” factor built in. Looks like a Subaru Ascent. Please , please don’t F_ _ _ it up by taking the easy way out. Let the real dreamers in your design studios…dream!
What a disappointment.
Gm has lost its touch in designing cars and trucks, if you notice all the cars look alike and this new front face design really sucks bad, all the vehicles they they’ve introduced are looking like this, and it’s a ugly design theme so no originality or creativity, that’s basically what it boils down to in the design process, I can outdo any of them hands down and I have the designs to prove it, gm has become more of a follower than a leader in designs and these designers who they hired need to be fired.
that front end does not firt the size of the vehicle. it looks like a bad photo job
rr this is not the finished Enclave to be honest it looked like the current enclave from the rear my wife’s 2019 enclave rear end is almost identical as is the hood and sides…I think they just took a new front end and put it on the current enclave…I just can’t see Buick going backwards abd and I hate these spy shots just wait until GM releases the real thing!
I will not buy an Eclave that looks like this one. It is for starters too big. Secondly it looks as bland on the outside as the Cadillac XT6. I’ve owed two enclaves including my lovely 2019. Take a look at the Chinese equivalent and see which one looks better to you. Yeah, GM Buick is supporting the development of better vehicles offshore versus here in the U. S. Really, see which one you like better. I guess I should just go with a Honda or Mazda that are stylish, well engineered, and retain resale values.
I think Buick did a very good design application on the current Envision Avenir. It’s artractive, nicely sculpted and hides the normally huge wheel wells with rubber, not air. I must admit; I bought one. And love it.
